It is huge. We kept wondering if it would ever end. Our kids (5 and 3 years) loved it. There are a lot of different exhibitions for the kids and they can interact at a lot of them. For example they can dress up like firefighters or police officer and play in a fire truck and police car. There are a lot of different attractions and many different playgrounds for the kids. Very good.

This museum needs about three hours and they provide your own university student as a guide. The low cost of admission and amazing service made this a highlight.

We wanted to give our daughter a treat and went straight to this museum in oir first day in San Jose. She spent a great time wondering around. It has a great variety of activities, including a real helicopter, plane, fire truck and train cars. It occupies a former penitentiary so it has added value for the addults. The staff is young and very cheerful, always wanting to help and tell a story to the family. The only lowlight is that everything in it seems old... Recommended for a couple of hours of entertainment for small kids.

After visiting the zoo, we had a little time to kill and decided to check out this museum with our 4 and 6 year old. What a great surprise! They had such a great time. Just when you thought you had seen everything, you would go into another room and a whole new world would open up! So much to see and do, and the cost was very reasonable. We walked over from the Simon Bolivar zoo (would not really recommend it though). It wasn't far, but the area got a little dicey around the museum. Best off to cab it.

I have been several times as an adult to art exhibitions, music concerts, etc., but I have also gone with my two grandchildren aged 4 and 8 and the loved it. It is a museum where thy can learn, play and be active. They always want to go back again!

This place caters to youngsters but adults will have fun as well. The cost was about 6 for adults and 4 for youngsters,

Totally a perfect place for kids. My daughter and I including my wife had a great time. Spent just $9 for 3 of us. Please stop by the gravity room!

My son and I had a 5 hour layover in San Jose, so I decided to take him here on a whim to avoid the torture of being at the airport for 5 hours with an active child! We were both so glad we went! It is about 20 minutes from the airport and tons of things for kids of all ages. The staff knew a little bit of English and were very friendly. I was actually sorry we didn't have more time to explore it. I highly recommend this as a fun, interactive activity for the whole family!!

Our kids, aged 2.5-8 really loved the museo de los niños in San Jose! We went there on a rainy saturday morning, and it was very crowded!! So bad that we didnt see the whole museum.. The kids (and the parents trying to look after the kids) got tired due to the huge amount of people.. otherwise a very nice place!

There were a lot of attractions and things for the kids to do, but it wasn't as clean as the kids museums that most people would be used to. A lot of the stuff was also broken. The price was good though.

We visited the museum in june of 2014. There was a private art collection display. In the collection were Picasso drawing , Andy Warhol's Marlyn Monroe's multi color picture collection. ,Monet and numerous other I dont have the list available. If you are an Art buff this collection is well worth your time.

My hubby and I were driving thru San Jose, lost for the third time (confusing streets and lack of addresses) when we stumbled upon this castle like building. We decided to go in for the heck of it, and were astonished to see a former prison turned into a children's play place, amazing architecture and remodeling with great arches, windows, and art displayed throughout for all.Good to see even without kids. One caveat. Get out of downtown before rush hour, of you may be stuck for hours. Cars and mopeds will zoom around you like mad.

I took my students on a field trip and they had a great time. It's a good place for kids to explore and spend the day.
