I really like the Egyptian Exhibit that was featured there. My friends and I really liked the Modern City Exhibit too. Cool sounds, lights and fun.

The Museum is a good family spot. Lots of things for young kids to interact with. They cycle through a few different exhibits a year. They also offer additional camp and night out programs.

I took my daughter and Son here with my husband on the weekend. They absolutely loved it. It isn't a big museum at all but what they have for children and families is nice. I like the hands on building toys they have and we loved the star show. Our other favourite attraction would be the shadow wall. I highly recommend this place and the staff were great also!

Underage Mayhem! The event was described as an "All Ages Event"97% were either underage or barely 19.I am no prude but this event was poorly handled.By 11 pm - kids were vomiting everywhere.

Visiting the place at 4 in the evening was the only flip side of the visit. I loved the fact that it was small enough for you to be able to give individual attention to each artifact placed as part of Unwrapping Egypt yet big enough to give you an informed impression of that era and how they came about worshipping things. I loved the bit where women were given more power than they are given in general in the modern civilisation. The process of mummification was beautifully demonstrated. All in all it was informative and a break from my everyday routine. Worth a visit. Ticket cost me $13.5 as I used a credit card . Very helpful and friendly staff.

My brother was here from Australia. We went to the museum and were very intrigued with what we saw. Very impressive.

Two youngsters 8 and 4 we spent a morning at the museum cuz they wanted to show their YaYa everything they had done the week before at Museum Camp. There was a King Tut exhibit on and they could not wait to show me Justine the Mummy. Fun interactive exhibits we spent a lot of time at the boats and canal set up, who doesn't like playing with water! An unexpected venue and a good way to spend some time with the youngsters.

The permanent exhibits are great for kids - from toddlers to pre-teens. There's a toddler-only hands-on explore area and a whole floor of interactive activities for older kids. They have organized crafts and demonstrations at certain exhibits. The current temporary exhibit is about Egypt and they have a 3000-year-old mummy on display. At the end of the Egypt exhibit, you can dress up in Egyptian costumes and have your photo taken in front of a replica sarcophagus.

If I understand correctly, themuseum (no, I don't know why it's all one word!) building is in it's third incarnation: it was once a department store, then it was a children's museum and now it is just a museum. The interior architecture is well done and it's worth a visit just to see that. There is a total of four floors. Two floors are still for children; we didn't explore them. The two top floors house travelling exhibitions and themuseum doesn't seem to have exhibits of its own. For our visit, the travelling exhibition was replicas of ancient Egyptian artifacts with a special emphasis on Tutankhamen. I suppose that recreating these pieces must have required some guesswork and assumptions but it was very well done. What is lost in not experiencing the thrill of seeing an authentic and very old exhibit was offset by seeing it as it appeared when it was new.We found that an hour and a half was quite enough time to see all the exhibits thoroughly so whether themuseum is worth visiting depends on the subject and quality of the travelling exhibition.

The good: The museum is decent and the staff are friendly. They have several permanent exhibits that are great for little ones and the majority of travelling exhibits are pretty awesome, too. I like the toddler room, which is recommended for small toddlers and crawlers- most patrons are respectful of this so you can let the little ones run amok without being trampled by bigger kids (although it does still happen sometimes...)The bad: it is a fairly expensive day. It costs about $14 plus tax to get in, and unlike many children's attractions-adults pay full price. Parking can be tough (see Ugly), so even if you are taking one child only, expect to pay $30, assuming you bring your own food and skip the gift shop. The ugly: the location couldn't be worse. While there is technically free parking around the city, it's nearly impossible. The nearest places to park charge a fortune and generally involve walking through really sketchy areas. The last couple of times I've gone to a paid lot and walked from three, I've been hassled by multiple people with varying degrees of aggressiveness and intoxication. I've even seen a few druggies wander into the museum and be kindly asked to leave by staff. I know that this is in no way the fault of the museum, but it is a bit trying to be heavily pregnant, dragging a toddler around, watching people circle your car and get aggressive. The museum (and the citizens of Kitchener) need to put some pressure on the city to start sorting out its issues, as I am sure the museum loses a lot of business because of it.

The Museum seems to be split into two different parts. There's the children's museum, and the adult exhibition. When we were there, they had an Egypt exhibition which my wife thoroughly enjoyed, though it seemed a fraction of what it could have been. The children's exhbit my two year old really enjoyed, but there was no clear indication of how to use the different exhibits. Overall it was an ok way to pass a couple hours.

Went to The Museum again on Sunday afternoon to see their new exhibit. I enjoyed it! There was a lot to see with the replicated artifacts. Pretty cool to get an opportunity to see history come to life.I would go again! My only concern was the information cards at some of the exhibits-they were tiny and not exactly at eye level. Still, all in all, it was a nice way to spend a Sunday afternoon.

I was excited to be taking my grandsons to the Egypt exhibit which has just opened. The artifacts themselves were fine, lots of good King Tut stuff, but many aspects of the museum and the display were not good at all. First off,at the admission desk, they charged extra for both credit and debit cards, which I don't think is legal. Then, a washroom stall was out of paper. The garbage bag in the trash bin in the washroom was not properly installed. On to the exhibit...an awkward arrival at the start of it. The areas were marked off with funereal black hanging drapes/cloth. Not particularly welcoming. My biggest gripe was the signage. Tiny little signs describing the artifacts were placed on the floor. My middle-aged eyes could not read a thing - I had to be read to. Some of the exhibits did not even have signage. What were there? Who knows. We tried a computer set up in the exhibit but it did not work. At the end of the exhibit where there is usually a gift store, there was a small space selling merchandise; it was awful! It had been hived off from the main area, but incompletely. It looked like a laundry room or a storage closet with exposed walls and stuff stacked in corners. Some of the merchandise was not priced. As we were leaving, we stopped at the "main" gift store by the admission desk. Merchandise there was pretty tacky, lots of cheap plastic gimmicky stuff for kids. Not the kind of stuff one usually finds in a museum. I was quite surprised at the whole experience - my first time there. I agree with the earlier review that said this was a good place for kids... the play area was really a good idea. and I hear the restaurant is okay. But whoever is responsible for the "museum" part should visit a few big-city establishments, in mhy opinion, to see how it's done.
