Nicole, we take quality control very seriously and are sorry to hear about your experience. Please contact me so we can follow up and make it right. It is very frustrating to both purchasers and wineries when a wine develops an off-flavuor from a bad cork.

For the last fourteen years, we have made the annual pilgrimage of wine buying in the Niagara area and Strewn has often be an early morning stop on Sunday morning on the way out of Niagara on the Lake. We have known for years that they offer cooking classes there, and we'd often said it would be fun to give it a try, though it doesn't fit well with our twenty winery a day wine trip. It was a bit of a surprise that for Christmas my wife had gotten us signed up for a Cozy Kitchen cooking experience. My wife and I both enjoy cooking, but we'd never taken a formal class. The level of the class was pretty much right for us. The menu included beet / goat cheese dip, kale salad, white bean stew and apple cider cake. The instructor Jane along with her husband Joe are the owners and they obviously love what they do for a living. Jane and her staff change the menus on a monthly basis, so even when you book the discussion will be about whether you prefer to trailblaze through a new item where things might go a little more like at home, or one where all the details are worked out. It sure is nice to cook and never have to worry about cleaning up a dish or running out of measuring utensils, however there is enough prep work left to learn new skills like a better way to zest a lemon. A lot of thought goes into the timing of the class and for the most part we were pretty busy through the whole four hour time block we were cooking. A few times the break point for new instructions didn't work, like you should be deglazing your pan as soon as the meat comes out, not waiting for the deglazing wine and instruction. These gaffs were the exception and not the rule, and the staff seemed to handle them very well. The highlight was enjoying the food with our hosts Joe and Jane paired with nice vintages from Strewn's line. The Pinot Blanc and Select Late Harvest Riesling (my wife thinks it was Vidal - apologies if I'm wrong) were particularly good.A few caveats. You are going to be standing for a long time, so wear comfortable foot ware. My wife and I both wished that we'd had a course of food a bit earlier where we could sit as our backs were starting to bother us by hour three. Anyway, highly worth the time and money, if cooking is something you enjoy.

Jane, Charlotte and the amazing staff at the Strewn Winery cooking school know how to set up an educational and fun day for its "chefs". They provide clear instructions on making a healthy meal that you will easily be able to recreate at home. Menus change often. What a great way to spend a day or give a gift to someone you care about

We visited many wineries and I am only reviewing those that we found to be a cut above the rest (except for a couple which should be missed and we are warning folks). This place should be one you hit.

This is a medium sized boutique winery The tasting was great! Very informative in a relaxed atmosphere surrounded by wine barrels!Wine was so so for me!Would love to go back with a group of people and do the interactive cooking lunch, seemed like a great team building event Good mulled wine and quaint shop with unique products!

Great friendly winery with awsome wine. Tried several other places but this was our favorite. We took advantage of the buy barrell. We have to keep coming back but I dont see that as a problem. It was a great fall day and they were very helpful dealing with our US credit cards that we forgot to tell we would be out of the country.

From the minute we walked through the beautiful entrance of Strewn Winery, we were made to feel welcomed. Not only is this a beautiful winery, with friendly staff, but the wines are excellent. Special thanks to Elizabeth and Joe who made the tour of the facilities even more enjoyable. Definitely worth visiting!

Graham took us through a number of their wines. Very knowledgeable and witty! Tasted a number of fantastic wines - bought a few to take back home. Highly recommend visiting!

Strewn has a fantastic cooking school set - up and although we did not have the opportunity to attend the day we were there testing wines, it is now on the to - do list. The wines we had were bold, and the facility and staff made it worth stopping for.

Super attentive, informed and friendly wine tasting... uhm, sommeliers? I dont know what you call them. Anyway, we stopped in randomly while driving around the Ontario countryside and were pleasantly surprised. And icewine is delicious. The location is very nice and classy. We only tried the wine tasting bar but the restaurant looked great and would love to visit that if in the area again.

What great fun! We were two couples and did the cooking class with Jane Langdon. The facility was gorgeous and the teaching kitchen was beautifully equipped. Under her gifted instruction we turned out a mouthwatering three course lunch which her husband,Joe, paired with the perfect wines from their vineyard. It was the highlight of our visit to Niagara on the Lake and I strongly recommend it.

We booked dinner here for our group of six on recommendations by the staff at our hotel (Harbor House). We were NOT disappointed! As late night diners, we were a little concerned that we would be shuffled off to no-where-land and somewhat ignored. Not. Our waiter was top-notch, highly experienced, and led us through the menu thoughtfully. The entire wait-staff was prompt and always there exactly when needed without being obtrusive. The food itself, along with its presentation, and the wine offered by Strewn, were all top-grade. As the last ones out of the restaurant, we can only say that we would return again!

My boyfriend and I stopped in here without having any clue about the winery or any of its products. We tried a series of wines in the tasting room and ended up going home with a few choice rieslings and ice wines. We also decided to stop by Terroir La Cachette for lunch, and the food was excellent!
