This is a great facility for all age groups and activities. I have used them all and spend a lot of time in the arena during lacrosse season. The new building accross the street is a great addition.

My only pet peeve is the fact older able bodied adults use the area for families and handicapped instead of their own gender changeroom. Really poorly thought out policy.

As a Coquitlam Firefighter and a member of the volunteer SAR team I spent a lot of time at "Chimo" the pool and gym. Originally on the west side of Poirier St. A new facility was built on the Eastside a few years ago which is state of the art. As we have been in the process of moving to our new place about 5 hours away I have not made it to this gym in almost a year now. But I would highly recommend it.

I have long wanted to learn how to curl. In previous visits to the Vancouver area I have not been able to arrange the opportunity at other facilities. This time, I was fortunate enough to meet someone who is a long time member of the Coquitlam Curling Club at the Poirier Sports Complex, and get a personal invitation. When we arrived, the curling area was bustling with activity, and there were both novices and veterans having fun curling. The facilities were clean and well-maintained, from washrooms to the sheets on which we curled. We were matched with a wonderful instructor who patiently endured our questions and seriously flawed attempts to curl. The three of us had a lot of fun, and absolutely plan to return for a follow-up lesson. If you want to learn how to curl, Poirier Sports Complex is the place to connect with the Coquitlam Curling Club and start the fun! I would highly recommend it.

This facility is VERY well used. there is a gym upstairs and a wonderful pool downstairs which you can do aquafit or swim lengths. there is a hot tub, sauna, steam room. There are co-ed shower facilities as well as separate changing rooms for men and women. You can go to the gym upstairs and then go for a swim - all at the same admission price. they also have classes which are free with admission. There are other facilities there such as an ice rink, curling rink. There is usually lots of parking .There is a snack bar upstairs overlooking the ice rink where you can get coffee and snacks. Staff are nice as well.Good place to work out.

Since it was renovated recently, the facility is beautiful. There is a new curling rink, the swimming pool is super nice except that the windows let people outside peek in (which is a little overwhelming since you're in a swimsuit). Other than that, the facility is kept extremely clean and there is a restaurant upstairs for food. The spectators area has nice big heaters to keep you warm! Overall excellent!

This is one of two public sports and leisure indoor complexes in the City of Coquitlam. For a very reasonable drop-in fee ranging from $2.81 (children and seniors) to $5.71 adults, you can get a day pass to use all facilities and drop-in classes and activities. The Poirier Sport & Leisure Complex is a 190,000 square foot, fully integrated aquatic, ice and fitness facility. It offers a variety of ice, aquatic, fitness and dry floor programs as well as drop-in classes. Multiple ice rinks, lap and leisure pools, gym (with equipment and weights), classes, swirlpool, sauna, steam room and changing facilities, a great way to keep fit while traveling and the kids occupied, especially on a rainy day. They also have discounted multi-visit passes, monthly passes and yearly passes.
