Ville Marie, the finest in religious architecture in QuebecThe chapels, the stained glass windows once seen and never forgotten. Known for the rich and famous weddings and funeral services.Dont miss the light and sound show that brings alive Montreal in all its glory and splendour

It's a pretty little church, nice glass stained windows. It can be visited quickly or you can stay longer and check out the museum. It's also well located, in the heart of old Montreal, right next to the Bonsecour building.

Very impressive exterior but interior is underwhelming with local jewelry, clothing and tourist shops, design museum and a café. Was expect an old style market with fresh produce, delis and bakery

Enjoy the Basilica where Celine Dion got married and Pavarotti sang. Nothing to do with the one in France and Not a Cathedral as it is too small but magnificent carvings and stain glass. Check out the working chapel in the back. If you're lucky maybe an organist will be having his daily practice.

A fine old church in the heart of Old Montreal. It's a great place to come and sit and catch your breath after running around the city.

Not as grand a scale as the one you'll likely visit, but definitely worth a stop! Super friendly people inside too. Saint Marguerite Bourgeoys, the founder of the first Catholic congregation and school in Montreal, is buried in the church. Also, the entire place has a beautiful nautical theme worth seeing.

Notre Dame is a beautiful church to visit in Old Montreal. I would recommend one of the guided tours for $5; you can't really see the church without paying a $5 fee anyway. You learn a lot about it's history and some interesting tid bits of info - like Celine Dion was married here. Beautiful stained glass and impressive altar.

We always visit Notre-Dame-de-Bonsecours when we're in Old Montreal. It's less grand than Notre-Dame, but it's no less beautiful. As a mariner myself, love the ship models that are suspended from the ceiling. I would recommend a visit to anyone.

This is one of the most beautiful Chapel, what it lacked in size, it made up in the overall design. One of the oldest church in Montreal, it also houses the Marguerite Bourgeoys Museum. The history of this amazing founding member of the Congregation Of Notre Dame is very well documented here. It also gives one a very good insight of life of the pilgrims during the period of early Old Montreal. The bonus is the amazing view from the top of the tower of Old Montreal and the Old Port.

The beauty of the internal building was inspiring, the colours, carved wood, candle placement & the overall design is truly a masterpiece.

One of the most beautiful churches we have ever seen-- offended as a catholic that we needed to pay a per person fee to enter a catholic church - house of God- that should be open to all who wish to enter. Have been to many churches in Europe and Us and this was a first!

This is well worth a visit as it is in the heart of the old Port of Montreal. There are beautiful frescos and Icons in a church dedicated to the sea farers of Old Montreal.

I have been here 4th time. You always feel blessed when you are here. Spend at least 2 hours in this quite church.

I have been here a few times and this time we took a guided tour at 4pm. Julie was very informative about the history of the basilica and about informing us that Montreal's first name is Ville Marie (City of Mary). The church has some beautiful stained glass windows and they are beautiful to see if there's sunlight outside. on the flip side, we were also taken to chapel in the rear where the colour of the walls and the evening light streaming in turned everything into gold. highly recommend a visit.

Spectacular architecture, great museum, really nice people. A great way to spend time indoors in Old Montreal.
