This winery was very crowded - clearly very popular !!! despite that, the staff were so friendly and did everything possible to get us a tasting of the 2 wines I wanted to try before making a purchase. I would love to go back here maybe during the week when there may be less people and learn a little more about the company.Loved their Moppa Springs wine and the Basket Press Shiraz.

Rockford cellar door is set amongst beautiful heritage stone buildings & stables. The courtyard is still part of a working winery so it's great to be able to stop & watch the process in progress! This is the only winery that produces the Alicante Buche wine from red fleshed grapes & their black Shiraz is sublimeReally friendly staff, intimate cellar door and a great atmosphere. You will love it

Did a stop for wine tasting and lunch during a Princess Cruise shore excursion. While this place may have won some awards the wines we tasted (white and red) had a NASCAR gasoline taste to them. Lunch was super disappointing as the chicken plate was late and came out some 20-30 minutes after everyone else got their entries. Additionally the rude, curt, and condencending waitresses were sub par.

Another great winery in fantastic old farm buildings, great history and atmosphere! Super friendly staff, excellent wines and a great location. We bought way too much wine

I’m a long term customer on the Rockfords mailing list and am lucky to be eligible for their private tasting room on the rare occasions I visit. When we arrived at the normal tasting area and let them know we had booked a tasting, we had to wait until someone could come and get us. There were very few people there so we were invited to commence our tasting. After trying a few delicious whites (love the Semillon), we were then taken across to the private room which turned out to have even more people in it than the public area. We had already run into one (loud) group of about six at a previous winery who had wandered in just ahead of us without a booking, but fortunately the staff managed to arrange to take them somewhere else. The wine was excellent – not a bad one in the lot. The Sparkling Black is extraordinary, the Basket Press Shiraz is sublime, the Cab Sauv is delicious and so on. The fortifieds are gorgeous – I’m not usually much of a tawny port fan, but this one is great. Suffice to say, we walked out with much more wine than I’d planned on buying! The one downside was the number of mosquitoes in the private tasting room. We were attacked and had to be issued with insect repellent, which didn't really add to the ambiance.Still, it is a beautiful winery to visit and highly recommended, regardless of whether you get into the private room or not. It would be a 5 star rating without the mosquitoes!

The beautiful old buildings here are so interesting to walk around and photograph. The tasting room is full of old artefacts and history. The tasting was delightful - staff knowledgable and friendly. My friend had raved about the Alicante - excellent. A winery well worth a visit!

Got to taste my favourite Alicante. Go during the grape picking time, see them stomp grapes with bare feet. Joined up the Rockford Wine Club. Amazing wines, a very popular place.

We had a connected friend and got access to the VIP cellar door which is a very cool area. Now the wines are just as cool and we loved the sparkling red! They do business with a number of small local grape growers which is also cool.
