julie burgess sailing

I had one of the most beautiful experiences yesterday. I sailed on the "Julie Burgess" out of East Devonport.She is a fully restored fishing ketch. The Captain and deck crew were just fantastic - very helpful and informative.Once we hit Bass Strait - up went the sails to catch the breeze. Everything was so quite, no engine running, just zipping along peacefully through the water.I would recommend this adventure to anyone. Myself I'm not a sailor but I just loved every moment of this experience.When we returned to shore it was back to the Bass Strait Maritime Centre for a Coffee and something to eat in their Cafe.Well done to all volunteers etc. Certainly a magnificient day.
