As others have said the views from the top are truly magnificent. I have lived in the area for many years & did not know it existed. It is a steep rocky climb & low slung vehicles might have a problem, on the day we visited it was noticeable the the NP had not done any roadworks for quite some time.

It's a bit of a drive, but when you get there it all seems worthwhile, the scenery is stunning BUT make sure you pick a nice day to do it and not when it's cloudy or hazy.Great place to have a picnic but please take your rubbish with you.

Where do I begin, Forster itself is getting better and better each year we visit, the waterways are just stunning, drive over the bridge from Forster to Tuncurry and what a beautiful site......the water is just crystal clear. Forster has everything a holiday destination has to offer, everything for all types of families, surf beaches, to little rock pool for the little members of the family, which is my personal favourite over at Tuncurry, plenty of places to walk around Forster to explore, heaps of things to hire and have fun with, my personal favourite is to hire a party boat with BBQ and toilet on it drive around the waterways all day and enjoy sausages on the BBQ, fishing , bit of music , swimming etc.....what more can you ask for......please put this on your list of places to visit.....and might I add the restaurant seen is also getting better and better each year......do yourself a favour and visit.

Wow what a stunning view over Wallis Lake and surrounds! A word of caution though the trail into the lookout isn't really 2WD friendly in my view - there are a number of steep rocky climbs, holes and ruts. It was possible in a VW Golf however we wouldn't do it again even in the very dry conditions of the day. Don't even consider going up there in a normal 2WD car on days where there is a chance of rain.

Beautiful drive up mountain, can be done in 2wd as long as it's dry, best view when u get to the top.

Just Keep it quiet, OK? Best views, best forest drive, great also if you like a leisurely Sunday arvo motorbike ride.

Whoota Whoota Lookout has panoramic views over Wallis Lake & Forster / Tuncurry. On a fine day you can see as far as crowdy head to the north and Hawks Nest to the south. The road to the look is 2WD accessable in dry conditions.

Some 50 km South of Forster in the Wallingat NP is a lookout with the most outstanding views. You can look to the coastline marvel at the size of the Lakes and see all the way back to Forster and the mountains beyond.”It's a bit of a drive with the last 12km rugged dirt road with potholes and some climbing (2 WD will do the job but slowly) The vast stretches of eucalypt forest that make up the park look like electric light poles on the way in - they are so straight. Look in the other direction and you can see the expanse of Wallis Lake as well as the winding, rugged coastline. Takes a little time to get there but absolutely picture perfect.
