Some very old graves and the towers were very interesting there are some similar in Broome cemetery not far from town.

Went specifically to see the Chinese Ceremonial Burning Towers. There is a box near the front gate of the cemetery where you can get some info on the cemetery and what points of interest there are plus a self guided tour map of the area. While it appeared the grass had recently been mowed, much of the cemetery looks a little in need of maintenance. Overall, it was worth stopping to see.

Nice to visit and you are provided with a very good map of the cemetery with the locations of the dignitaries who are buried there. The chinese section is very moving, both for the fire towers and the sheer numbers of people who are buried there. The other dignitaries are not of especial interest, although it was interesting to visit the grave of the lady who introduced Myxomatosis to Austrlia.

We stopped by the cemetery on a cycling trip around Beechworth and ended up staying longer than anticipated. Pamphlet at front gate guides you around notable graves. Terrific history.

I liked having the pamphlet as a guide and for giving an insight into the lives and diversity of some of the people buried here. Surprised at how the cemetary was so large and pleased it is so well maintained .Very interesting Chinese section. The Blue Atlas Cedar tree is worth a look near the rotunda.Definitely worth a visit and a gold coin donation.

Just reading the headstones takes you back to the harshness of the gold rush times. Many children's graves. Easy to access.

Incredible to look at how many people made up Beechworth during the Gold Rush. Huge Chinese section which must have underlying stories.

Wandering through the cemetery is quite moving experience. You realise how lucky we are as you see the numbers of young children and even adults who succumbed to the many illnesses. The Chinese cemetery is also fascinating

As always, it was sad to see so many babies, young children, and new mothers buried in the 19th century section. The Chinese section of the cemetery was very interesting.

This is a must stop for me on each trip to Beechworth to visit relatives but a wealth of history is available strolling around the cemetery. Love the fountain just wish it was going.

Really interesting to see how life expectancy has grown significantly over the years. Also interesting history lesson.

Most of my family on my father's side are well kept here. It was a nice place to walk about in. You can see the Primary and Secondary Schools on the way before graduating to the cemetary.

Loved the Cemetery. So much History. Grab a pamphlet and have a look around. You need to make a small donation to go towards the up keep of the Cemetery.
