This is probably more appealing if you've never seen a suspension bridge before. In summer there's not much water in the river but it's still fun to walk across this old bridge as it wobbles and shakes with your footfalls. Worth a short detour from the main street or combine with a visit to the Holy Trinity church.

Best feature is the ability to make the bridge sway and wobble, thus terrifying nervous foot travellers.Apparently all men terrify their ladies with such 'amusing' behaviour .

Definately worth a walk over and take a photo of the great view. Water was clear as that morning and teaming with wildlife

The bridge is fun to cross but the signs along the Avon River hint at the consequences of modern farming practices and land clearing in the area. It is dangerous to swim or even have contact with the water.

All the literature we read on York mentioned this bridge. We were expecting it to be a little more special! It was not quite it was hyped up to be.

Loved this little experience, not quite as scary as some people make out. Walking across the river is quite magical.

Good spot to take photos of river and traffic bridge. Good accessibility to other side of river to walk along

A great way to see the Avon River and have some fun walking across the swinging bridge. Especially fun to make the bridge sway. Enjoy a picnic in Avon Park or walk through the historic town of York and all for free.

An historic suspension bridge . Its just about impossible to walk across without bridge swinging. Good fun as well as historic.

the Avon river looked dirty and hard to imagine it rushing for the avon descent but the bridge was quaint and we enjoyed walking over to the bush.

good little walk across this bridge. Totally safe as its a wire suspension build. Have a picnic in the park then go for a wander over this bridge

It's a suspended bridge, just like the one in Northam, but smaller. It wobbles if you walk like an elephant.

We visited the bridge on a very wet day but kids loved stomping over the bridge in their willies! Worth a visit if in York.

Nice bridge. Was worth walking across just to say you did it. Brick chruch on the other side looked interesting. River was full and flowing quickly.

Our daughters enjoyed walking and rocking the bridge, there is a nice playground nearby so you can combine both in one visit.
