A MUST see statue - take a taxi there and have them wait for you. Worth the trip. Great view. Also visit the chapel underneath the statue and say a prayer - it will be answered.

A great place to talk to God and make your prayers. On a hill top, you have the image of the Virgin- beautiful. Around it you get to see the city from the top and its hidden houses, tucked in the green forests.

Since I'm Catholic, the Trono de Fatima is significant to me in that a family built it in honor of the Blessed Mother for hearing and helping to answer their prayers. The organization that maintains the attraction needs a little 21st century sophistication in marketing such an attraction.

The shrine is on an partial overlook of Petropolis. It is of dubious artistic merit. (Each of us has our own idea of "artistic merit".) There is a small, basic chapel under the shrine. A souvenir stand and a snack-bar are to one side. It is a good, stiff hike up the hill if you are looking for exercise, but the shrine itself leaves a bit to be desired.
