Beautifully clear water. Excellent taverna with delicious food and very good service. Loads of photo opportunities for goat lovers.

The beach is small, but beautiful and comfortable. There are a lot of goats walking around, they are friendly and sweet, but try to catch food and clothes. Beside that, this beach is the second best on Symi. The taverna is very nice and have really tasty food.

very simple, to reach the beach car is essential, you will be surrounded by goats, only one taverna with very good food. however crystal clear water, silent, speical

Although I don't like to be a naysayer, I can't agree with these other positive reviews. While the water was very refreshing and clean, the beach itself was small and not as beautiful as others on the island (like Nanou, for example), and feels full when a few families settle in. The taverna's food was mediocre at best, and while they did make a nice horiatiki salata, the vegetables they served on the side looked like they came out of a commercially produced frozen food bag. While I usually enjoy being close to nature, the goats were actually quite aggressive and there were a lot of them! Plus the dozens of bees made eating at the taverna really unpleasant. Since the boat only comes and goes once a day (meaning you are there for 5 1/2 hours), I would choose somewhere else instead if you're looking for a quiet afternoon at the beach.

The goats add to the beach use the pebbles to ward them off.The smell of herbs from the bush land is lovely as is the tarvena .

This beach is pebbly, like most Symi beaches, but has super clear water and a taverna. The taverna is Ok but some people chose to take their own lunch which isn't a bad idea either.

The place has good food, clean sea water, a bit cold but refreshing. They have a nice attraction there !!! Many goats around your table waiting to feed them.

the restaurant on marathounda serves good food with pleasant service. I had Greek Salad and courgette balls. while the veggie choice was limited the food was extremely fresh and tasty. my carnivore friends ate goat in lemon sauce which, although it was very tasty, was probably the wrong dish to enjoy in the face of our uninvited guests - a nanny goat and her kid who kept us amused all through the meal. both carnivores finished their meal, by the way....and pronounced it very good

nice and clean beach. no body around just small bay look over to Turkey. small road to get in and nothing to sell or buy. so get ready before got here

I am a regular visitor to Symi and this is my favourite beach, access by boat and car The swimming is lovely, a shingle beach you will need beach shoes to get into the sea I always collect a few pebbles for my collection. The taverna serves excellent food my favourite are Symi shrimps with salad and a lovely bottle of retsina. The goats come as extra and are very tame but very greedy and will try and steal any food you leave around. I would recommend this to anyone so tranquil cant, wait to be there again later this year

Although easiest access is by boat, and there are many easy choices of boats and water-taxis in Symi, Marathounda Beach features a Taverna that will be worth the trip. The place only 'appears' to be simple - the food and the service are far from simple: they are elegant, delicious, fresh, and you won't want to leave!

Gorgeous swimming and the taverna serves wonderful food, this is the best place to spend the day on Symi.

Lovely beach, good for snorkelling complete with goats and taverna for home cooked food. Large stones so would recommend sea shoes.

Para estar tranquilo, muy lindo lugar. Yo fui en invierno: toda la playa era mía y había sol! Vale la pena llegar caminando, haciendo un paseo por la isla
