The gardens are beautiful and well kept. Lots of different species of plants from all over the world. Maybe some more information about the plants would be welcome, as well as a toilet (if there is one, we didn't see it or any signs leading to it). It is slightly isolated from any restaurants so maybe consider this in case of visiting with children. Also, check the weather forecast before, there's not lots of places to shelter if it's raining and the station is still a bit far away, more than 5 minutes walk.

Gardens are beautiful and the "new" Florabuilding is just fantastic.It's definately worth a visit. And on top of it all it is close to the Zoo!

A wonderful quiet place (except on Sunday) midst of the city. Take your time and you feel like in heaven. A lot of plants from all over the world and many places to rest. It´s a place to make a short break from the world.

A nice place to go for a walk and greenhouses with a large variety of plants.Shame that the cafe/Restaurant doesn't seem to be running in Winter.

Once there, you simply feel like in Wonderland! There are some many varieties of plants!Visit it during a sunny day, maybe better in the morning went there is still only a few people.Notice that it is a BIG garden and you will need time to see it all. I personally did not had time and left before finishing my visit. But it still worth it!Adapted for couples, families with kids...

Want to get out of the hustle and bustle of the city, then head for the Botanical Gardens, These are not the largest gardens but they are magnificent. Plenty of nooks to explore and the green houses are beautifully maintained. Take some lunch and a good book and disappear for an afternoon, and the best part is it's FREE!

If you like to have a walk in a beautiful peaceful big garden, or sit on a bench, full of many many different type of plants and flowers and birds and squirrels etc etc , this is the place and every period, of course, is different colors and different flavor! It is a splendid place where to have a joyful rest in nature and look how many different type of living exist! there is an area with cactus, very interesting!

Bring enough time to enjoy all the lovely and very different plants in the Flora. If you enjoy reading and are not in a hurry, consider bringing a book and just sitting down on a bench for a while, reading your book outside.

Just loved this place. (We went twice!). Not only beautiful flower beds but fountains, lakes, glasshouses, humorous sculptures and a super cafe.. There were even red squirrels which we never get in my part of the UK.

The botanical garden of cologne is a beautiful place to visit, it is not that big in comparison with other botanical gardens around the world but if you like Nature, walking and places where you cab relax and be apart of the "civilization" for a while, this is a perfect place for you!.

Very beautiful botanical garden. You can walk there for hours, and you will notice the sounds of birds, clean air and peaceful insects etc

The entrance is free and there were not many people there on a Sunday morning in September. There are trees from all over and lots of flowers of all sorts, more than I expected at this time of year. The landscaping is lovely and there were funny sculptures in a number of locations that blended into the garden. There are a couple of hot houses but we only managed to get into one of them. There is a cafe but it didn't open until 12 noon.

The gardens are nice,well maintained and plenty of picnic areas,we really enjoyed the cafe in the gardens the food is so good and it is a cool idea the way the meals are packaged in jars and is placed into a hamper for you to enjoy ,only downside is you can't take hamper into park but there is plenty of seating in cafe area.
