In the limited time that we had after visiting Nidaros Cathedral, we only managed to see the outside of the Archbishop's Palace, but what we saw was beautiful. Lovely architecture, spacious and peaceful. If we are ever back in Trondheim, we will certainly pay it a longer visit.

While the building, mostly of recent reconstruction is indeed the former archbishop's palace, it is mostly devoted to an excavation of the foundations and bits of statuary from the old cathedral. Visually, there is little to see even for an architect or medieval scholar where, foe example, York in England has more to offer.

The mint was well explained. We were glad that the place had not been given the Disney treatment. The combined ticket with the Cathedral and the Crown Jewels was worth having.

The Archbishop's Palace is directly beside Nidaros Cathedral. You can get a combination ticket for 100kr if you wish to visit both. Otherwise just admire their impressive exteriors. The buildings are over 900 years old. Inside the Archbishop's palace you can see the crown jewels. The armoury is free.

A three-floor exhibit. The archeological exhibit on the lower floor was my favorite. You can learn a lot about the history of Trondheim here. Helpful staff.

There is plenty of Scandinavian history to be learnt here. The Crown Jewels are displayed very nicely. One can get a discounted ticket for the palace, museum and cathedral .

This whole area took me back to tales and movies of Vikings and the like. To the era when the Church was allpowerful . We are revelling in the abundant evidence of past cultures everywhere in Norway

I found the bottom floor with the old mint the most interesting though all floors have some worthwhile objects to see. Worth a visit

Royal regalia is on display here which is worth a look. However, the story boards on the history of the rulers of Norway is interesting and gives a good background for other museums on site.

Good displays, including King's/Queen's coronation jewels. Provided good insight to both local day-day life, politics and power balance.

The presentation is nice, but I was missing some more written information. It was worth visiting before going into the church itself, giving more of a backdrop to the experience.

Same again, not too bad and you do have to keep yourself occupied while in such a small town. So please take a look

The guides (mostly students) were very enthusiastic and well-informed. Restoration of the buildings was well done and museum was inventive.

The Archbishop's Palace is a place you should visit even if you only have a few hours to spare. The exhibition is about archeological finds around the area. There is also a video room with a great movie about Nidarosdomen. It is in Norwegian, but with English subtitles. A good tip is to buy an "all-in-one" ticket to Nidarosdomen, the Archbishop's Palace and the crown jewels, you save a bit of money on that.

It is the place to be there, it is very quiet, large it is not over-crowded. You can enjoy of the birds, the trees and the flowers.
