The surprise was finding, on arrival with a pre-arranged party of walkers, a film being made inside the cathedral of Irish musicians and Irish dance - all for St Patrick's Day. After this delightful interlude we were addressed, briefly but most warmly by the Archbishop, and then given a whistle-stop tour of the cathedral by a guide.

The Cathedral was a bit difficult to find, but it was quite interesting driving round and round the wee narrow streets of central Armagh. There was a £2 admission charge. I paid up because the man in the booth was quite pleasant and I didn't want to hurt his feelings, but I object in principle to paying to go into a place of worship. The church was interesting enough, but I was there mainly for the association of the site with St Patrick. The gardens were nice for a stroll.

Friendly welcome on entry. Staff member willing to answer an queries...nothing too much trouble. Beautiful building steeped in history.

The kids and parents all loved visiting, especially the crypt.Small charge recommended for upkeep but verger rounded the entrance down for our group.

A must visit in armagh wonderful history and chapel for the Royal Irish fusiliers and the crypt is worth visiting whole building stepped in history

For me the Crypt and the grave site of Brian Boru made the trip so worth while and in Vicar's Row beside the cathedral is the Armagh Records Office and the oldest library in Northern Ireland,

Fascinating. You have to take a breath and think to get your mind around how long this site has been an active church and all that has gone on here. Beautiful grounds, gardens and cemetery.

St. Patrick's COI cathedral is another must see when visiting Armagh. Structurally it is very different to the magnificent RC cathedral but personally I found it equally as interesting. The history of the cathedral makes it a place well worthy of visiting. The grounds are lovely too with well maintained areas where one can sit and enjoy magnificent views over the city.

situated atop a great hill overlooking Armagh City, this centuries old cathedral was stately and impressive. we especially enjoyed walking around the quiet grounds and soaking in the atmosphere.
