First the trick is to get an appointment to see this museum. It was several years ago when I went and they had posted hours. Now I understand you have to make arrangments with the Thomasville History Museum across the street. The house is beautifully maintained, many of the pieces of furniture authentic. i have been twice here and each time the docent had many details on the unique history of this home and the aritfacts. I love it and would go back again. If possible make this a place to visit.

Beautiful on the outside, really weird on the inside. The architect had an aversion to right angles so there are very , very few in the house. 6000 sq. ft and only about 1000 are usable. Really odd!!!

The Lapham-Patterson House is park of GA's state park system. The guides are knowledgeable and patiently answer all questions. The tour of the house is the best part though. Roaming around such a strange place after hearing the story of it makes it feel sort of surreal. It's a nice bit of Thomasville history and well worth a traveler's time.

Although this great home was closed for a time being, it is now back open to show. It is very unique and loved to walk the tour and hear the stories.

We received a personal guided tour. Ticket prices were reasonable. Our guide gave us lots of information about local and period history.

Very interesting house - well worth the small fee for the tour (Fri-Sun). Has the distinction of being a National Historic Landmark because of the architecture. There are three floors and each room has an exit to the outside. Handsome wood floors and paneling on main floor and third floor. Its available to rent for parties and would make a unique and fun setting!

Worth the $5.00 fee! Amazing details. Allow maybe an hour. Enjoy!

C.W. Lapham built this beautiful mansion in 1885. Like many people of the era he believed that architecture mimicking the organic lines and curves of nature made healthier living environments - so this home was designed without a single right angle in its floorplan. A retail shoe mogul who survived the Chicago Fire, Lapham likewise insisted that every room on the ground floor feature a door to the outside and those above a balcony egress. Our tour guide described the layout of the house and its rooms as "quirky", which is most certainly an understatement. Nonetheless, this marvelously preserved example of unique Victorian Feng Shui is a real treat for connoisseurs of the Gilded Age. Tour guides are friendly and knowledgable, the price negligible and the experience memorable.

This is s home built in the 1880s by a guy that survived the Chicago fire and who designed the house to save him from any fire. Good tour guide on this. However the state needs to fund it more or it will fall part quickly.
