I love history and this museum is a story of our state. Very interesting items, especially Jefferson Davis's war chest.

This is a nice little museum. Everyone should pay a visit. Interesting history of this small Ga. town.

An excellent overview of the entire history of this area, its importance in our revolutionary period as well as the civil war. Loads of memorabilia with guided tour available as well, which was superb.

The museum is somewhat dated and the presentation of the artifacts is pretty static. That being said, there are MANY one-of-a-kind items, documents, and historical pieces here. Take your time looking and you will be rewarded. My kids were very interested in some of the actual letters written by people on display including bills of sale for slaves. It put them right in the shoes of others from long ago.

This museum is packed full of historic items and information. Worthy of a whole morning or afternoon exploring it. Knowledgeable tour guides to walk you through it or explore on your own. Very educational for visitors of all ages.

My kids love this place. They love looking at all the cool historical displays, arrowheads, old army uniforms from Civil War days. Lots of great memories abound here.

This is a very nice example of the history of Wilkes County and Washington Ga. from the Revolutionary War through WW2. The exhibits are really nice. This is a self guided tour so you can take your time. And the home is beautiful.

This particular Washington site is a "must see". Beautiful Tiffany window, a lot of history, very enjoyable, especially if you a taking the tour with "Miss Fanny". Very knowledgeable and informative.

This is a self guided tour with some interesting things to see. The lady that was working there was spinning wool and was very nice. She showed my 11 year old how to do it and allowed him to try. I would go back and would recommend to others.

This was a very "not friendly" place to stop. Although it does have some imformative rooms, we will not go back to this place because of the customer service.

This museum was quite informative and made we want to learn more Georgia history. They had all sorts of things in this museum that I had only heard about but never seen. Revolutionary War artifiacts, Civil War items, old toys and a vast array of historical items. The tour guide was only at the beginning and she was very nice. It was also nice to be able to stroll about the house as we wished without being rushed through.

If you are a Civil War buff this is a must see. Although I've been to many such museums this one is the best. The town of Washington GA is steeped in history but the center of it all is in Washington-Wilkes. They have artifacts I have not seen elsewhere.

We were only able to walk around the gardens of this museum on our last trip to Washington, and they are very sweet. We liked the Victorian style heart shaped garden in front especially. I would have liked to tour the museum itself, but it did not appear to be open. The museum's front sign and official brochures say it opens on Sunday at 12:30, but when we arrived at 12:30, the door to the ticket office had a sign saying they were closed on Sundays. If you're spending a weekend in Washington, make sure you fit this one in on Saturday.

This museum is over 50 years old and covers over 200 years of history specific to this area of Georgia. I was amazed at the quality and quantity of exhibits. The beautiful house features furnished rooms with antiques from the 1800's in addition to 3 stories of exhibits. You can see George Washington's gravy boat, Jefferson Davis' field desk, Dave the Slave pottery, an Eli Whitney Cotton Gin and so much more for only $3;00 per person. This museum is worth you time. Also drive or walk the area to see some of the most beautiful homes in Georgia. I love this small town. Some of the friendliest people around will greet and talk with you.
