I had the pleasure of making SARA park my hiking and exploring playground for 2 weeks in February. Great trails for everyone of all abilities. Download the trail maps from the web and set out for a daily adventure. Never met so many friendly hikers in one place.

Lots of hiking trails. Not steep, but long and some crawling over rocks. The longest path is about three miles one way to from the parking lot to Lake Havasu. Lots of rock different rock formations along the way. We did not see any wild animals, but maybe didn't know what to look for. Fun, nonetheless. A good idea would be to download a map of the park from the internet before. you go. And of course bring along some drinking water.

This park provides sports opportunity for adults and kids alike! Baseball, softball, fireworks, rc cars!

We didn't do a lot of the activities at the park -- just hiking and the dog park..and a brief watch of some people flying RC planes / copters. We hiked down the wash as far as we could. If you do the same -- pack lots of water, and 30' of rope! There is one spot that is about a 12' drop at about 60-70 degrees.. and it's smooth. You can get up it with two people -- but depending on your abilities, the rope would make it much easier. after that it gets much tighter and a tougher trail -- we only made it a little ways past as there was a pretty good sized pool of water in the way (just rained the week before). But it looked wicked fun!Dog park was fairly nice as well - I really can't compare it to anything, but there were a number of people there, and they had bathrooms, water, a kiddy pool for the dogs, separate large/small dog runs -- it certainly got the job done.

We went twice to this park for hiking, and while the trail head parking is easy to find, there isn't lots of space at the second which would be a problem in busier times. The Trails are not well marked, and with so many of them it gets confusing. Most of the trails just meander for a while as if many hikers couldn't find the right trail and just wandered around til they felt like going back to the car. The official trails are red, blue, yellow and green marked, occasionally. The plastic 4 foot tall markers are sometimes missing and sometimes right in an obvious place. They may or may not have mileage on them. The first parking lot has a sign board with maps on it, but they aren't very detailed, and don't give much info or help. You need to know someone who has been there or meet someone on the trails to ask, which is what we did the first day. We made it to Tabletop ridge (Lizard peak trail), Crack in the mountain, and to the lake with a picnic table and a WC. The Arch in the rock trail was the most confusing. We found a website with a hand drawn map and directions, but while helpful to the rock not so much after. Dry and hot, take water and food, but nice to spend a few days hiking there.

Sara Park just South of Lake Havasu City, AZ provides a very picturesque place to hike through a wash and in and out of rocks, including a couple of areas where a rope or ladder are provided for rappelling and/or climbing in and out. If you make it all the way through you are rewarded by reaching the Colorado River.

Great hiking area. Safe parking area. Also closer to town skateboarding, bmx track, aquatic center, great walking paths.

Described as a moderate hike but some areas difficult, requiring rappelling. Sights were great, sun was out, who could ask for more!!

This Special Access Recreation Area just south of the town offers a variety of things for recreationists, from motorcross to softball to tennis and hiking. The park closes at 10pm but opens again at 6am. I hiked a trail down to Lake Havasu and it was a beautiful five-mile hike I'm glad I did in the cooler January. This place gets crowded with tourists, though, so plan ahead.

Follow the wash down to the 'Crack in the Wall'. This is a neat little hike, I would consider moderate. You then cut back up the mountain, for an excellent view of Lake Havasu! If I lived in the area, I think I would hike this everyday!

Did the crack trail like most people. A great unplanned surprise for our 2 night 1 day stay at Lake Havasu. A rope and ladder was left at the 7 -8 ft drop, which made it easy for us to go and come back on the same trail. We didnt go all the way to the lake, but we like scrambling inside the slot more.

This is a large park on the south end of Lake Havasu City. We went for the hiking. There are myraid trails here, from rugged mountain climbing to more leisurely hikes. We hiked from the parking lot to the Crack (our son kept going through the crack). This park is pretty heavily used, but everyone is friendly and there are plenty of trails for everyone to use and not feel crowded. Descriptions of the trails are on line and in the local visitor's center. The trails are not always well marked but since there aren't trees and such to obstruct views, it is hard to get terribly lost. I thought that not having vegetation would make for a boring hike, but the rock formations are gorgeous and unusual. The Crack is impressive, a narrow path through towering rock formations. definitely worth seeing. One down side is that you do share some trails with mountain bikes, which makes it a little exciting at times. Also lots of folks with dogs. Still, didn't see much for dog waste on the paths, so maybe the owners are good at keeping things picked up. Definitely worth exploring; can hike up into the mountains and down to the water.

We did the crack to the arch one day, then the table down the back and back up through the crack again another day. Trails are well marked, terrain is varied, fairly busy area and everyone is super friendly. The view from the table was awesome, only took about 40 minutes to summit.Highly recommended area!

I like this park and they have two separate off leash parks side by side one for the small dogs and one for the larger dogs . It is well kept and if you like Arizona scenery you will not be disappointed . If you love dogs and want to run yours this is a great dog park. The Rodeo grounds are also in this area as well as the race track and a baseball field. Walking trails are also in this area.

The Crack hike is the most wee known and worth doing for sure. We did it twice because it had rained lots just before we arrived and got our boots soaked! The other hikes are great as well.
