veterans memorial park

This park is easily accessed from Highway 2 in Dixon. It has several pieces of military equipment and visitors can walk right up to them. Several flags and plaques that honor all members of the military. They have special services a couple times a year, usually presenting historical information and reading the names of those honored.

You could tell that the community takes a great deal of pride in their work. The way they represented the different branches of the service was nice. The staff came out and made sure we signed the guess book. Nice community feel. Thank you,

We stop often. The bricks with the names, branch and dates of service of local military men and women who served is so interesting. The Helicopter is my favorite. The poor thing was shot down a few times and led a very hard life. The vehicles are parked in such a way that you can walk up to them and touch them; you really get the sense of size. They have plaques where you read the history of each piece.
