the american toby jug museum

What an interesting place to visit. There are over 3,000jugs in the museum.Some are Toby jugs and there are other kinds as well. I spent 2 hours wandering around.

Pretty impressive museum with very nice people running it. A good place to stop by if you are in Evanston. Only issue is that I would call to see if the museum is open as they open on their own time.

Conversely, if you don't like them then you probably wouldn't enjoy this place :)My wife and I have a couple Toby Jugs at home, so when we saw this place was open for visitors during the Custer Street Fair we decided to stop in and check it out. The curators are incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, and shared a few interesting stories and facts about the Toby jugs and history. The collection is enormous, covers many years and makers, and is organized chronologically. Being fans of Doctor Who we particularly enjoyed some of their newer jugs at the back.No entry fee for the museum, but opening hours are limited. Check their website or give them a call before you plan a trip.
