This is a short 2 mile walk. They have benches along the way and signs for the trees and vegetation which is nice. We ran into puddles and muddy areas along the way but they were manageable. About 1.75 miles into the walk we came to a huge section of the trail under deep water. We could not seen any way around the "small lake". While this trail does have a tendency to be wet we were surprised because we had not had any rain in a while. I also would have thought they would have posted at the beginning of the trail that it was impassable.

Enjoyed a tranquil walk through the woods and palms. Some of the trail was made of a wooden walkway and other parts were just ground. Make sure you put bug spray on. I did not see anything bite me, but the day after I had bites all over (chiggers maybe?) The one trail is a bit long, to an observation overlook, great for birding. My husband and I spent a half-hour here.

Driving all the way into the park you will see a museum & kayak rentals. Be aware there are alligators, but that is expected it is Florida. It was nice to look at.

This eco walk is really close to Crystal River but you feel like you are hiking in the wilderness. They have great signs along the walk to describe the wildlife and plants of the area. We ended up seeing deer, a few birds and a water snake. It's a loop trail that can get muddy so be prepared.

Take the address and use your GPS to find the trailhead as the turn off from the main road isn't marked at all. Other wise a wonderful hike through 6 different habitats of old Florida. We saw deer and an armadillo on our hike. The hike is easy and flat. It was a little soggy in spots so wear boots.

This is an absolutely enchanting walk. The landscape is varied. There are signs describing the scenes and benches to rest and just take in the beauty. We walk the trail whenever we can. It's a great place to enjoy nature.

This is a wonderful little 2-mile trail located off Hwy 19 a short distance north of Crystal River on Tallahassee Road, which is only about a block from where we turned in off 19. The trail is a loop through some wonderful nature-coast country, and it has many informative signs written at a middle-elementary level--obviously a well-visited destination for school groups. It had rained the morning we walked, which left some swampy areas to skirt along the trail. The live oaks draped with Spanish moss and the lush palms make for a beautiful excursion into the world of nature.

This was an excellent day trip on my last visit to central Florida. We had seen info at a rest area for this attraction. We packed a pic-nic lunch and set out for the day. It was both relaxing and refreshing to get out with nature. We had a nice walk and it is a sight to see. I recommend you stop by and see what you think about this beautiful state park.

I enjoyed my 2 mile walk around this loop. I had a really hard time finding it though. Luckily, a nice man at the place the GPS sent me to (the wrong place) sent me in the right direction. I'm from the west coast, so I enjoyed the flora and fauna of this walk, but I only saw 1 armadillo. He was so cute though and since I have never seen one before, it made the walk worth my while. The real directions are: Corner of Curtis Tool Road and Tallahassee Rd. Take US 19 North out of town for a couple miles. Turn left on Curtis Tool Rd. Continue to Tallahassee. At the "T" in the road, look to the right and you should see the sign for the eco walk. Follow the dirt road to the parking area. Good Luck!

Short walk ( mile or so), through typical terrain. Plenty of signage, although a lot of it looks geared toward school groups. The GPS took us right there. This was a fine part to our stay in Crystal River

A really enjoyable 2 mile walk, although it seemed longer, partly because we kept stopping and looking at wildlife, which is to be advised. This is not a trail to rush.A particular highlight were the armadillos. We saw two first of all, at a distance, then one crossed right in front of us, a few feet away, and was far more interested in rustling in the leaves than to worry about us.A variety of small birds were to be seen, but as always, you need to stop and let them appear, and make the minimum of noise. We were there about two hours at least and did not wish to hurry, until the insects started on us in the late afternoon.

The 2 mile walk seemed longer as the "eco" areas were far between and could have had better/more descriptions. Didn't see any wildlife but being a hiker enjoyed the walk anyway. Not a lot of shade along the way and many long spans without interesting information.

It's a great place to take a walk and experience nature. Make sure you wear a hat and bring suntan lotion and bug spray.

I was visiting my mother and in the area and did not want to walk around the neighborhood any more so I chose this trail instead. Very nice easy walk, plenty of birds - did not see any other wildlife except a tourtise, which was cool. The trail is well marked and very quiet - I was the only person there at the time I went. If you don't have time for anything longer and you want to get out into nature, than this 2.1 mile loop is perfect. The gentleman in the visitors center was a great help too.

meet a fellow traveler who told us about his many adventures around the world while he was walking his BIG dog(pet friendly), very informative trail and not much of a challenge.
