waitsfield farmers market

My husband and I stayed in waitsfield this summer for a weekend. While looking for things to do our inn keeper suggested the farmers market. I'm so happy we went! Aside from the typical things you see at a farmers market there was a band and wine tasting. If you're in the area on a Saturday, don't pass by, you won't regret the stop!

On the town green every Saturday from mid May to mid October, you will find the fabulous waistfield farmers market. Market runs from 9am to 1pmLocal artisans, food and especially fresh organic meat and vegetable from farmers in the mad river valley and near by villages will make your weekend specialLots of great gifts or souvenirs such as handcrafted quilts, bags or pottery as well as jewelry will make your one stop shopping very uniquely Vermont made product.

About ten minutes up the road is the town of Waitsfield and thanks to being in the area on a Saturday, we got to spend some time checking out the farmers' market. Nice spot for lunch, methinks! The sun was out, the locals were out enjoying it and we were lucky enough to be part of it. Running from mid May to mid October, the market not only covers the fabulous fresh produce that comes from these parts, but it's a showcase for local jewellers, craft queens, artists, furniture makers and artisans to show off and sell their wares.
