This is a real treasure of a park. Numerous trails and gorgeous waterfalls. There are lots of trails for Nordic skiing.

The trail is pretty well laid out and easy to find. The Benham falls are beautiful and pretty protected so you could take kids there. Would not recommend doing that for Dillon Falls.

I rode my mountain bike on the Deschutes River Trail and enjoyed every mile of the almost 15 round trip. There are plenty of scenic views and even a couple of water falls. There is plenty of picnic spots too.

It's the first thing you notice that's different in Central Oregon. So fresh. Summers are warm and over the last few trips we have hiked different sections of the Deschutes River trail system. It's an easy hike. Trails are well maintained and connect a series of picnic areas and canoe launches. The river has stretches of quiet water followed by swift rapids and water falls. It's a a very special place in Oregon. See a quick video of the last section we hiked on my YouTube channel "Born Freel"https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HDtRVd50Lgs

Within the Deschutes National Forest, which is lovely on its own, is the origin of the Metolius River. You can see the spring where the river begins, visit a fish hatchery nearby and be amazed at how large and rushing a river is created from the spring!

Whats not to like around here. Plus it is less than an hour to Bend for resupply and micro brews.I have been here in summer hiking enjoyed waterfalls and quiet ponds.... At least during the week

This national forest is absolutely gorgeous. You can't help but see it, be in it, and it's heart-warming, soul-warming engagement.

Todd Lake Trail was exactly what we were looking for. Hiked up past the lake to view Broken Top, Mt. Bachelor and South Sister. Returned to the lake to soak our feet. A great day!

Pristine, lush, scenic, just beautiful....and clean...The entire city is just...eco-friendly, health conscious, everyone is riding bikes, walking, hiking, etc..,

Contrary to what some reviewers have written, this is a moderate hike at best. Only 2.5 miles from the trailhead for spectacular views. Easy to drive to right out of Sisters

No dislikes on this one Worth going to see The view and stay from early morning until sunset and you will be glad you did. Plan to spend the day there with a picnic lunch

We spent 3-4 days in our vacation with time in this beautiful forest The contrast in crowds is stark. Cultus Lake and Elk Lake are beautiful lakes but being the summer season they are very crowded with tourists right now. Elk Lake even had a wedding party being held there and it was almost impossible to get parking to take a few photos. Then there is beautiful aquamarine colored Devils Lake along the Cascades Lakes Scenic Byway toward Mt. Bachelor. Only a few kayakers are on the lake and a few tourists taking pictures. Sparks Lake nearby offers great views of South Sister and Broken Top Mt. with again only a few kayakers and campers.

Title states it all. The views of the Mounts long with the lakes, streams, and rivers in the high desert cannot be beat.
