This rather small lake has picnic facilities and is a rather busy get-a-way for many locals who enjoy peace and quiet. No loud boats or big waves, lots of blue gills and a few larger fish, this lake affords an outdoor experience that keeps inviting returns.

This lake is a very peaceful place to be whether you are with your family or alone. There's a separate lake for swimming, bike and walk trails, and rental pontoons to take on the big lake. There's numerous places to picnic, scores and scores of cottonwoods that sing in the breeze, and the place is remote and green and quiet and large, and very wonderful.

This is a good place for kids to run around and get the kinks out. Keep a close eye on them...there's open water.

The park around it is nice for spring/summer/fall walks, kind of desolated in the winter. You can see some wildlife, good for picnics and family time.

I grew up visiting Cottonmill Lake and it sure has improved. There are trails, fishing, and picnic areas and also frisbe golf

Nice close to home but felt so far away :) Not a heck of a lot but great for younger kids. Great trees for shade!

It is an attractive recreation area. Well-maintained. Good for family events. There is a wade/swimming area and a separate boating and fishing area. Connected to a walking/biking trail that goes for several miles.

This is a great outdoor area just outside of Kearney. There is a frisbee golf course, tons of hiking trails, swimming, fishing and even a petting zoo for those who have small children. Also they have some awesome hills that make a great place to go sledding!

Full serivce park with playground. Start of a great hike-bike trail that you can get off and on for 11 miles. You can walk by a canal and a stream. Great scenery

Tis little out of the way lake was refurbished a few years ago and is a really food fishery for it's size. Boat or bank fishing can be fun.

Great inexpensive place for the family to have fun outside. Loved the paddle boats, and they were reasonably priced.

Cottonmill Lake is a great place to relax and bring your fishing pole lots of good fishing not many people and an opportunity for a great day outside with the family. The best thing is it is free. There is a snackshack and a place to rent paddle boats. Tons of shaded picnic areas. There is also a small barn with a few animals, and a swimming hole in the summer. There are tons of great hiking trails. Great place for family reunions.
