auburn visitor center

Met Henk the other day when we stopped in for some info, and had a most interesting conversation, as well as good advice. The visitors' center is conveniently located and well organized.

The personality of the place and welcome to our house vibe of the ownership even though it was a concert event. That concert was actually a dress rehearsal for the forthcoming road trip of the singer and her group (Maria Muldaur and her guys). We will be going back. Acoustics were good and the sound engineer kept the sound to an enjoyable, ear pain-free level. Kudos to him and ownership both for understanding not everyone likes having their eardrums blown out!

traveling north from Auburn to Grass Valley we viewed the sunrise coming up through the drift smoke of a forest fire in the mountains.. Stopping in the Lake of the Pines we saw the sun coming up.... Beautiful.
