Very enjoyable. Small , but a good display. Worth the mere $5 fee. Hey they have to keep their lights on , and $5 is cheap for anything nowadays. The Gift Shop is free, where you can pick up t-shirts, decals, books and nick-nacks. The staff was very friendly each time we went in. Free street parking in front, and good eateries nearby.

I met wonderful staff here and the museum did not disappoint. I found out about the place from a show on the history channel. I would recommend to anyone that likes to surf.

Cool, nice, little museum.I had no idea about the surf culture so I was so excited to see and learn new things !Lots of information and pictures! The student fee is only $3 so don't forget your ID. You can walk from the pier to this museum its only two blocks! They have some cute and interesting vintage postcards!I will visit again if I am on the area!

The exhibits are interesting, the gift shop reasonable but the staff (volunteers) are remarkable. Every time I have stopped in to check out their gently used vintage shirts, I have come away with something new to think/talk/write about.

This is an interesting display of surfing history and memorabilia - I'm not a surfer and I suppose my interest level wasn't as high as those who've done a lot of surfing. But it was worth the time and effort. The $5 fee is a little stiff for what you get, but I guess they need the funds to keep the place open. If you are into surfing this is a must see...

A great history lesson of surfing and surfing technology. A continuing exhibit is Bethany Hamilton's actual surfboard when she was attacked by a shark. The gift shop is huge!

They have a great collection of surfboards. All the way from vintage wooden long boards to modern fiberglass boards. They have just the right amount of singage describing their collection. The director is a long time surf buff.

I was expecting a much larger place, but overall the museum is filled with history and currents on SoCo's surfing pastime. Like I said though, expect it to be very small... because it is. Maybe a half hour or less to go through.

Loved it, very awesome, the information, photos, clippings, and the way it was displayed and presented was interesting enough. But then ... the boards!!! I loved especially the section devoted to Bethany Hamilton. For five bucks, it's a bargain. A must see!

I really enjoyed visiting the surf Museum, so much fun and learned a lot, it is not very big, the people who work there are so nice, they are very helpful and will answer questions and tell you stories. This place is a little gem in Oceanside. Visit the surf museum, you won't be disappointed.

We were so excited to go inside, my friend is a 73 year old male surfer, and has surfed since high school, he was VERY anxious to see the museum. First the people were not friendly and there was a fee to go see the "good" stuff. Won't go back.

Surf history! Lots of interesting memorabilia. Just blocks from the beach. Had Bethany Hamilton's surfboard from her shark attack.

Although I no longer surf, I enjoyed seeing the boards, and pictures. The museum is only a short walk from Southern California Beach Club, and interesting to visit. I usually spend my time at the beach, on the beach, but this was a great distraction.

This small museum is a great tribute to the Oceanside surfing community with a surprising highli the t which features the surf board pf Bethany Hameltom, a survivor of a shark attack. The movie soul surfer was filmed based on her experience. Highly recommended

This is a small museum a couple of blocks from the beach, but it does give a good overview of the history of surfing and how it changed the face of California the past half century. It is done really well and definitely worth a visit.
