the big crush

This is an annual event put on by the Vintners Association. About 40 local wineries participate and each offers a different type of enjoyment: sitting and sipping on a shady lawn while listening to a jazzy violinist, dining on tacos and listening to classic rock, eating paella and playing bocce ball, sipping on cool white varietals and/or luscious reads. Wineries offered great discounts, everyone was friendly and the wines were delicious. The food was also varied and tasty and included tri-tip sliders, paella, pizza, gumbo, salads, and so many more treats.

This was our first time going to the Big Crush. It was $40.00 a ticket, but well worth it. We visited 19 wineries in two days enjoying the music and food and limiting the amount of wine we drank. I thingk that our favorite winery was Dry Cellars, for the wine, the food, and being the most dog friendly of any of the wineries we visited. We will definitely go again.

We have been to the Crush 6-7 times and although it has gotten more expensive ($40 for two days!) it is still a great time of wine tasting, great food and always fun people. Every year we come across a great wine find/purchase and this year was no exception! Stay the night in the area and get a couple days of this fun activity and load up the car with great wine for the Fall season!
