harris-lass historic museum

Harris-Lass Historic Museum is close to the Santa Clara Civic Center area (and very close to the art museum there). It is the last farm site in the city of Santa Clara and is named for the two families who owned and lived on the property for 125 years. The house is small, tour is ok. In terms of historic home tours it is interesting, but average in terms of such tours in the US.

Only occupied by 2 families who left their belongings. Really shows what is was like cicra 1900's and reminded me of my grandmother's home. Very well kept and guided tours are excellently run.

Sounds like an interesting site but they are surrounded by locked gates and a high hedge so you can't even a decent photo of the tank house in back. Call ahead and go when they are open - I will next time I am in the area.
