My wife and I spent an afternoon at Dungeness NWR. It's only $3 per person and well worth it. The spit is a great walk and the views are fantastic.

Well maintained trail down to the Spit. The hike is worth it! Gorgeous! It's only $3 for the family and they do ask that you don't take anything from the spit.

You can't go to Sequim without visiting the Spit! A file mile Spit- just gorgeous. Its a bit of a hike down to the Spit but well worth it. The hike is through the forest and then you end up at the Spit. Waves rolling in, amazing driftwood, and a great beach walk. Go as far or as short as you would like. We had bald eagles flying overhead! Loved it!

As part of our fitness plan, our personal trainer, Rufus (a 10 year old Golden Retriever) suggests we do at least a two mile walk EVERY day. His choice place to go is the refuge. It has hills, and nice trails and a spectacular view of the Strait of Juan de Fuca looking across to Victoria BC. This is also the entrance to the Dungeness Spit and a 5 mile hike to the lighthouse. (No dogs allowed on the spit). There are campsites at this park if you are a camper. This is a lovely park and treasure here in Sequim. The waling trails are free but there is an entrance fee to go down to the spit. National parks pass work.

The spit is a wonderful walk if you've got a few (or several) hours but there are also great walks the other direction along the bluffs. Have seen Eagles up close, otters, partridges, deer and lots of birds. You could easily see whales during the season -- just look for a cluster of boats.

Enjoyed the hike through the forest, then ended up on the beach. You could hike all the way to the lighthouse. Nice park.

The hike over the bridge was fun for the kids, and the gift store and birds inside were cool to look at.

Just outside of Sequim. There are several places you can stop, but the nature trail, with signs, etc., is at the end of the road.

The Refuge was a short drive from where we are staying. Easy to access and the short walk from the car park to the beach through the woods was very gentle. The views of the beach and the sand spit were stunning and once on the beach the amount of drift wood was incredible. A beautiful walk with plenty of stunning photo opportunities. A must if you are on the Olympic Peninsular!

The refuge is worth visiting. You can spend hours walking the spit or just take a short hike to the overlooks. A beautiful refuge project.

Just go walk, you don't have to make to the Lighthouse, if you do, it's a big bonus but do remember the adage about the journey not the destination. Breathe. Listen, you can even close your eyes while walking.

nice hike and beautiful views as well as interesting facts of area. Even in the rain we enjoyed our hike.
