We stumbled upon Vartanyan about 3 years ago while on the Whatcom Farm Tour. What an amazing find! The wines are fantastic and the venue is very comfortable. Margarita is very passionate about her work and loves to invite her guests into conversation about the wine. She really creates a wonderful environment for tasting and learning about wines,Check the website for special events such as "Punch the Must" Barrel Tasting, and Summer Music & Wine events. Affordable and fun wine club. This is our favorite place to bring friends, kids, and a picnic!

Usually you find 1-2 wines at the winery you like. Here I absolutely love every wine I tasted. They open different wines every weekend, check their Syrah and Tempranillo, if they have those wines open for tasting. Balanced, with blossom of flavors, the wines have long finish and smooth and complex aftertaste.Great outside picnic area, but weather wasn't welcoming to sit outside when I came, plan to come back for sure and have a glass of wine outside next time.

Very nice, small, family owned winery. Love their red wines: soft, smooth, well-aged in barrels and very reasonably priced. Wish the weather was better to sit on outside patio with the glass of wine, the view of Mount Baker is incredible. And the greeting teem of 2 winery dogs was so welcoming. Definitely worth a visit.

Wines are very oxidative in style. What they do is probably just fine for people who just want to have fun, or take a picnic along on a nice day (the grounds are pretty), but if you're a serious kind of wine person (like me) this is not going to be your kind of place.

It is always a great time at Vartanyan Winery. The owner is always a delight! The wines are excellent. There is a nice picnic area with gorgeous views of Mt. Baker. In the summer there is music on Saturday's. There are special events through out the year and sometimes you are lucky enough to do some barrel tasting. The cost of tasting is only $5.00 and refundable with purchase of a bottle. And trust me, you will want to buy a bottle. Very reasonable priced too!

Not in the mood for gambling, I stopped by this little winery. I have to say, it was one of the best decisions I made. The owner was very friendly, and answered all the questions I had. The views were gorgeous and next time I am in town, I plan on stopping by again.

Having visited Yakima Valley and Okanagan, B.C. wineries, this is the best Chardonnay. It is oakey and buttery, which is hard to find.Enjoyed everyone of the red wines as well.

The view from this winery is worth the trip. Small picnic area available too. The hostess was very friendly and informative. We bought several bottles from this small and unique winery. Very relaxed environment.

Vartanyan is BY FAR the best whatcom county winery out there! My husband & I are big wine lovers and we have been to every winery in whatcom county several times.... but we always come back to Vartanyan! I'm addicted to Margarita's Trilogia! Grab a couple of friends and come out to one of her Friday or Saturday night concerts! You'll be amazed! If you haven't gone to one of her barrel tasting parties, you need to! My husband and I plan a few trips a year to Canada to ski and we always make a stop at Vartanyan for lunch a sampling of wines. It is a women owned business and they care very much about their wines and quality and are very nice people. You cannot beat sipping wine, having a great lunch while you are staring at the Mountains!

I went there with my girlfriends. A beautiful view of the Mountain Baker from the patio makes this a wonderful place to hang out. The wines are great too. The owner was fantastic. She was very knowledgeable and friendly. This is a place to visit, enjoy the views and the wines.

The wine is amazing and matched by the fabulous view of Mount Baker. Vartanyan winery is very close to town just minutes away from I-5. I highly recommend a visit to the tasting room for an enjoyable experience with wine maker Margarita Vartanyan.
