This is right within the city of Bellingham with an easy to locate parking lot and gorgeous walking/running trails right off the lot. Great scenery and interesting fish hatchery on site. Must see while in Bellingham!

I wish we had such a nice park in Redmond or Woodinville. Miles of well maintained trails, two enjoyable waterfalls, the photogenic historic limestone bridge, and fish hatchery. Was quite enjoyable to see various sized trout and salmon in the respective ponds this February.

What a pretty park with gorgeous scenery! The trails are manageable for walkers, runners, bikers, and strollers. You have multiple trail options to choose from; I very much enjoyed the trail to Scudder's pond. I saw several different bird species and the pond was alive with song. The falls are pretty and there is something enticing about the power of water. You will see families, couples, many dogs, runners, and bikers in this park. If you have time, stop at the fish hatchery, it's pretty neat to see the different kinds and sizes of fish swimming in the tanks.

The waterfalls are beautiful, great trails through the woods and along the creek and falls. Two great playgrounds and basketball hoops, and a fish hatchery and its right across from the best donuts in town! Great place for kids of all ages!

The falls at Whatcom falls are very tranquil and the trails are great. I have been able to see owls on my walk through the park. Just a beautiful area.

This is one of the most beautiful places I have visited. This is one of the first places my boyfriend took me, it still to this day is my favorite place. There is so much calm and peace, several waterfalls, and you can hike all around the park.I have been both in the Spring time and Winter time and both are wonderful times to visit!I give this place a 10/10 review. great for family days out, couple walks (witnessed a proposal here!) and there is space to have a picnic. If you're into yoga or meditation this would be a lovely space to do so as the atmosphere is so calm.Dogs are allowed and there is no dog mess or litter anywhere - that I found.

Whatcom Falls Park is located approx. 1 mi. east of the interstate 5 highway running through the city and can be accessed easily from the Ohio or Lakeway exits. The park surrounds "Whatcom Creek" which originates from the Lake of the same name. The park has multiple uses. It has sheltered area for picnics as well as unsheltered adjacent to a fish hatchery within the park. It has Tennis courts and playground for children across the parking lot. One can walk a very short distance from the picnic area accessed from Silver Beach Road and kids of legal age can fish in the pond that forms the confluence of the creek itself. For those who like to "Bird Watch" it is a very diverse with numerous species from Wood Ducks to Eagles and sparrows and finches to woodpeckers. For those enjoy walking you can take a trail from the northeastern edge of the park walk along the edge of the outlet of the lake through the trees ranging from willows near the pond to tall Douglass Firs, Cedars and Hemlock traveling southwesterly towards the hatchery and picnic area and split off to another trail following the creek down stream past Whatcom Falls or cross over a walking bridge and traverse the other side next to Bayview Cemetery. It is peaceful, easy walking. The park abuts Woburn Street on the west and Electric Street on the east with Lakeway Street being south and Alabama Street to the north. Some areas are not open for access for preserving the landscape.

Stepping into the forested park offers a departure from life's bustle. Trails winding through the park follow Whatcom Creek and have viewpoints of the Falls. It's a favored refuge for locals year round.

Whatcom Falls Park is fantastic not necessarily because it is grander or more jaw dropping a vista than others, but simply because you don't expect it to be there. Off Lakeway Drive, there's this little park (comparatively) with these decent sized falls, a twisting river and a beautiful stone bridge! The play area and cooking areas are more or less what you'd expect, with a nice rentable covered area as well.

Whatcom Falls Park is part of an interurban park system operated by the Bellingham Parks Department and has two entrances off Lakeway Ave. The first entrance takes you to the lower park and is visited most often because of the impressive stone bridge built by the WPA in the 1930s. Ithe bridge is only 50 yards from the lower parking lot down an inclined paved path. There are grassy areas and picnic tables and shelters right next to the parking lot. Trout are raised in the fish hatchery and released into the the pond just a short walk from the lower park. The stream running through is active during salmon spawning season. The upper park entrance is a little farther west an is family friendly with playground equipment picnic tables. Pick up your supplies at Fred Meyer located at the I-5 Lakeway exit and then head west on Lakeway to this park for a refreshing hike and picnic.

Rain or shine, this is a great park. One side abuts streets, one a large cemetery. Yet one feels far away from civilization under the tall old trees. Whatcom Creek and Falls provide the soothing background sound of water. Other reviewers have touched on everything this park has to offer, I go there as often as possible. It is always re-invigorating.

This park is a nice place to get away from it all in the city. The park is lovely all year - the lushness of spring and summer, the bright autumn colors, and even winter's cold is enjoyable on a nice day. There is a playground, a fish hatchery, picnic areas, and plenty of trails to explore. There is a good sized parking area and public restrooms are available. It's a great place for photographs, too.

This is a charming little park. It's easy to get to. Whatcom Falls isn't Niagara, but it's picturesque and, well, charming. There are lots of trails to walk on, a fish hatchery open for a walkthrough, some evidence of the area's history, a duck pond, a playground, and places to sit down and have a picnic. Perfect for about a half-day visit. i live in Bellingham, and I still visit the park often just to walk around and enjoy the peace and quiet.

Whatcom Falls park is full of beauty. Fun to feel the cool water in the summer. A nice hike with many trails that lead between the city and the outlying areas. You can walk, run, bike, or play basketball and tennis. Easy to access with many parking areas or hike in from your residence. An outdoor mecca so to speak. Experience all 4 seasons from getting your sweat on to enjoying the frozen tundra. Lots to do outdoorsy and a place for awe inspiring pictures.
