governor's lighthouse

This is not a tourist place. It only to be viewed especially at night when it lights up at the entrance to Coquina Harbor Yacht Basin. It is especially nice at Christmas when they decorate it with lights. It is at the clubhouse of Light Keepers Village condo complex.

When asking at the Visitors Center about a lighthouse map (they did not publish one) the lady told me about Governor's Lighthouse located in a residential area. She gave us great directions and found it. However, if she had not given such details it could be a little difficult to find. It is on private property and you can not really stop to check it out. I took a photo from the car and we were on our way.

This is on private property in a developement. We drove into this developement and when we finally found the lighthouse there were signs that said private property. For use by residents and their guests. What a waste of fuel driving from Myrtle Beach to see this lighthouse. It looked like a decoration and not a beacon for lost ships.
