Highly recommend the Cathedral of Learning. The architecture is amazing. My kids loved it, very fun to explore.

The centerpiece of the University of Pittsburgh is the magnificent Cathedral of Learning. Just spend an hour wandering around the commons realm and look into the Nationality Rooms. Each is unique, and each is an actual classroom! Tip, they do offer guided tours of both the Nationality Rooms and the campus for interested students.

The tour of the college was excellent. Buildings are beautiful, people friendly, and choices for students excellent. A great place to send your child to school. Clean, abundant with activities, and an excellent chance for an education.

Pitt is worth a visit. On its grounds are the Cathedral of Learning and Heinz Chapel which is gorgeous. It has a wonderful library and is in a lovely neighborhood. The new stadium is also worth seeing. Pitt provides an excellent education.

Our daughter had a great experience as an engineering major. She loved Pitt (well, maybe not the winter weather). She learned a lot, met good friends, and thought the city was very college friendly. She still lives there several years after graduation.

With such regal looking buildings and structures around, this is a nice place to just walk about and take it all in.

My son goes to Pitt, and this is a great school in the heart of a town setting. Pitt is situated in Oakland, right next to the Medical Center, and very close to Carnegie Mellon University.A lot to do at this school. Guaranteed not to be bored.

Nice improvements, esp the housing options. Business school building and classrooms have expanded into the Oakland area more. Seems to have come up in the world reputation-wise and not just because of sports.

I went in October and all of the trees were many colors. Also, I went to the cathedral and there, there are classrooms themed as many different cultures. They have an Egyptian classroom, Chinese, German, etc. It is amazing to see all of the different rooms that actually have students learning in them. Also, the campus is breath taking to walk around.

So much to see and do there. Parking is horrible, but there are some public ramps. Big charges, and some of them aren't open on weekends.

A spur-of-the-moment visit to Pitt on a gloriously beautiful fall afternoon for my eldest son's first college tour was a joy. We had a delightful young woman as our Pathfinder. She knew answers to all of our questions, shared insider tips that made my son feel like she was genuine, and helped us get a feel for how these college tours work. Pitt is now on his list of schools to consider.

My son was visiting PItt, Duquesne and Bucknell on this college tour. Pitt, mostly because is his good friend did early admission there. After the tour, my son said PItt was in his top three and very close to the top! University of PIttsburgh feels more like a private school and than a state school.

My daughter felt safe, considering the 'urban' setting... definitely a serious consideration (if she can get in!)

I know this is no Ivy League but the campus does have some architecturally interesting buildings and nice green spaces. I came here for the Carnegie museum to be honest, but I found the campus alright and really appreciated the free wifi. There are a good range of places to eat too. As I said, it's no Ivy league, but it's ok in all honesty

If you are looking for an excellent university in a metropolitan area, look no further. Pitt was very impressive, from the grounds to the buildings to the students we met.
