Fantastic museum with cool architecture and exhibits both inside and outside in the garden. Historical and history, too! Don't miss this! We loved it! :)

What a hidden jewel this historical home and museum is. We are so glad we ventured a few miles pass Hannibal Mo. to the town of Palmyra, Mo and saw the 1828 home and museum of the Gardner House. At one time it was a stagecoach stop and the historical artifacts are amazing. A famous actress grew up there named Jane Darwel, (Ma Joad), in the classic, "Grapes of Wrath". An old button up shoe caught my eye, (1800). It had been found in the wall of the courthouse in 2007. It seemed it was a practice people did to ward off evil spirits. I didn't know that, did you? Our tourist guide Theresa Kindhart, was nice and knowlegable. We highly recommend this wonderful historical home, and museum. It's one of a kind.
