We had been cooped up because of the snow for a couple of days so it was nice to get out of the house and take a drive to Lynchburg. I checked TripAdvisor and thought that Point of Honor might be something to see. We all enjoy seeing historical homes and Point of Honor did not disappoint. Beverly, our tour guide, was knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and friendly. Considering the numerous changes in ownership and uses of this home it is miraculous that it can still be enjoyed as an accurate example of it's original self.

Thank You for visiting Point of Honor. Unfortunately, we do not have Cabell pieces but we are fortunate to provide our visitors with the amount of information we do and show you how the Cabell family would have furnished their home.

I found the place fascinating. The lineage concerning the house was concise and informative along with its ties to Patrick Henry. The guide was not that knowledgeable when asked questions off his usual script but was honest about it nonetheless. The video and displays prior to the house tour were very well done with just enough reading and visuals to make it interesting. I hope they continue to seek donations to add to the house's furnishings. I was very impressed with the donation of the foyer grandfather clock that was told to me to be worth about $200,000.00. It was working and chimed during our tour. I believe the wall covering in the living room was a Zuber from France but again the guide did not know. A nice place to visit. For lunch I recommend Isabella's or Waterstone.
