statue of three-legged willie

Three Legged Willie...a true Texas Hero. We used to study this fellow when I was a teacher and the kids were excited when we later visited his grave site. This is much better. There are a lot of real characters in history and this is one of them. Great that a statue has been created in his memory.

Drove by the statue in front of the museum many times thinking I had to be seeing it wrong, or maybe it was made wrong. Finally took the initiative to ask about it and the story behind it is very interesting. What a novelty.

Not to be missed! Hands down one of the best statues in this part of central Georgetown! Went with the misses and several teens and we had a blast! Pack a lunch, as you may stay longer than expected.

It's a nice statue on the square. If you are on the square shopping or eating then definitely walk over and see the statue. It's in front of the Williamson Co. Museum It's free. You should definitely go to the square for the galleries, shopping and restaurants.Three legged Willie is one of the Texas heroes from the Republic and early statehood days. Go see him.
