My wife and I stopped here on the recommendation of one of our wine dinner companions. Claude (the owner) was on hand to pour and provide an overview to his amazing wines. The tasting room is not fancy and the winery is virtually undiscovered. (We hope it will stay this way but suspect that the wine club membership will explode once people discover this hidden gem.) The champagne (yes, champagne as it is produced in France and imported to Texas) is some of the best we have ever had and can't believe it was so reasonably priced. Unfortunately, they were out of the Grand Cru - Demi-Sec but joined the wine club in the hopes that we can get some in the next release.

We stopped at Alexander Vineyards on our way into Fredericksburg for a long weekend. As a new operation, the tasting room isn't as nice as others (yes, it is a trailer), but we weren't there for the ambiance of the tasting room, we were there for the wines, and are they wonderful! We visited several other tasting rooms for other vineyards, but just couldn't find any wines that matched the quality of Alexander Vineyards. We brought friends and family back two days later so they could "taste the difference." All of us left with numerous bottles of wine. Definitely worth the visit!

My beautiful wife and I joined the wine club here, because this is the only vineyard where we like the whites, we were always red drinkers prior. Claud Alexander has great plans for this place. The tasting room is currently in a mobile home, but don't let that keep you from stopping.

They have only been open a short while, so do not be thrown off by their temporary tasting room (it's a trailer). Their French wines are fantastic, and their tasting room staff is excellent. They are very knowledgable & like to give you as much information about the wines, grapes, and varietals as you want to hear. If you are new to wine or want to learn more about tasting & pairing, make this an early stop on your wine tour.
