We travel frequently to the Yellowstone area from our home in Washington State. This is Buffalo Bill's old hunting lodge, and makes a great pit stop on the way to Cody Wyoming. We never stay overnight there, so don't know the quality of the rooms, but the historical significance is wonderful. Have pics of our kids on the covered wagon there from the time they were little through young adulthood. Great place to walk around, and visit the clean restrooms.

Probably the first and last time to eat here; next door are treats that can get me by until I get into Idaho. The surrounding area is quite nice as it is located in the mountains and the décor, history, etc, make it worth the stop, just get a snack or drink, forgo the food.

Basically the only reason we stopped was due to the fact this is Buffalo Bill's old hunting lodge. They have a large assortment of t-shirts and souvenirs and I even read they are cheaper than gift shops in Yellowstone Park. After going on to Yellowstone after leaving here, I beg to differ. I found this shop to be over priced with inferior quality t-shirts. We bought shirts here and inside the park but it wasn't until i got home and washed them that I truly saw the difference in quality. Staff wasn't very helpful either.

This is a perfect place for the person who does not want/need TV or internet service. The cabins are surrounded by woods and it is very quiet and tranquil. It was so quiet I could hear the birds flapping their wings. The restaurant staff were extremely personable and helpful, I would not say the same for the check in staff for the lodge. Cabins were very quaint and clean. Very convenient to east yellowstone entrance. Be prepared the only place to eat is at the lodge. There is a gas station with a few grocery items, but very limited.

This was Buffalo Bill's hunting lodge at one time. The original structure is still there. Lunch was hearty and big portions. Just right for pre-horseback riding meal.

Not many people realize what this is until you actually stop. Look for the architect's initial's - in plain site if you look - UP -. Much history & the Rangers are helpful.

I had the bison burger which was just in name only. Ok but nothing special. The real treat is the hunting lodge that Bill Cody built, his portrait is hanging above the fireplace. You have to walk through the gift shop to get to the dining room so watch out for shopping.

We had an opportunity to stop here for lunch. While it was the most expensive burger we had ever had (Buffalo Burger), it was well worth the price. The server brought out 2 burgers, and I knew it wasn't the right order as soon as she walked to the table. No problem, and she returned quickly with the right order. I guess people out west like to really season their food, so it was very salty, but tasty. Just drink tons of water afterwards.

We so enjoy going to this wonderful historic spot.A lovely area which was originally Buffalo Bill Cody's Hunting Lodge in the early 1900s.The gift shop and restaurant lend high quality products and service. There is also Lodging available. It is not a tourist trap... It is a beautiful place with the thought of the times of Buffalo Bill combined with the mountain times of today. Enjoying the best of staying in the mountains , horseback riding, watching wildlife, taking in the scenery, fishing and We love their wonderful Breakfast and their Huckleberry Ice cream. So we have to stop on our way into Yellowstone and then again on our way out of Yellowstone .

We only stopped for lunch here. The service was VERY slow and the food was so so. I think the problem was the cook as our server was very pleasant. The store is fun to stop and look around.

My family stopped here for breakfast one morning. Food was just ok, and pricey. I would not recommend for breakfast. Nice gift shop and neat building.

Don't let the negative reviews of the gift shop steer you away from here for an awesome horseback trail ride. I agree the gift shop is not great but the trail rides with Ray and Cory are AMAZING! We did a two hour ride with Cory as our guide, and he was great with novice riders. After our ride, we ate in the restaurant there. It was a great stop before heading into Yellowstone for the afternoon.

my wife and I took a horseback ride at Pahaska tepee and enjoyed it very much. It was a great way to enjoy the beautiful scenery. Our guides, Cody and I forgot the girls name, were great. After our ride we had a nice lunch inside the resteraunt. We were also happy it was so close to the east entrance to Yellowstone.
