We were long time patrons. We enjoyed going there and went frequently. Knew that losing was part of it. But NOT ALL THE TIME. As we enter this review on line today FEB 27, 2015 it has literally been months since we have won there. We kept wondering when they would become ashamed of how bad the machines had been tightened up. They are no longer the "loosest slots in NM" and they are not "NM's best bet" as they slogan. It is very hard to get free games, when you get them, they pay next to nothing. The higher bets are a joke, you hit on $2.50 bet or a $5.00 bet (we have done both) and have won $25 - $34 dollars recently. It is no longer fun and we will no longer go there. Save your money or go to one of the others that actually give you a fair chance to win. Something is wrong at Santa Ana Star Casino and has been for several months.

Great place for family and friends to meet and have gun. Most slots are fun to play and you win, just have patience and enjoy!!!!

We went to The Stage for the first time to see Rod Man, winner of the Last Comic Standing TV show. We were very impressed. The Stage is a stylish and enjoyable place to see comedy acts. We sat 3 rows back from the stage. It was very comfortable, except that the fold out chairs used for seating on the dance floor are a bit narrow, otherwise they are nicely padded and fairly comfortable. The actual stage is very attractive and perfect for a small performance, such as a comedian. There is a bar within and servers come to you for orders. The sound system is good. Mostly we were very impressed with the professionalism of all the employees working at The Stage. They were well dressed for the venue, very courteous and welcoming. Overall, for a comedy event, I rate The Stage a "9.5"

visited on our travels and ate in their buffet. Nice assortment of entrees, drinks, salads and desserts all for one resonalble price. Casino itself was fairly plain or average

We stopped by this casino while exploring the area during the balloon fest. We signed up for the new member cards hoping to get a little free play money. You have to take your new card to a kiosk, swipe and spin to get benefit. Hubbie got a free water bottle and I got 1000 points. Excited to get the points and after gambling awhile with no positive results, went back to the kiosk to claim what I thought was free play. Had to have 2500 points to get $5. Well, was nowhere near this total after a few hours of gambling, so decided to pack up and move on to Sandia Casino where we got way more perks and won some money. On the positive we did acquire 500 points each to get a free pink balloon fest sweatshirt...total cost about 200 bucks...sheesh!

JMJ Right before you enter the Casino there is a Historical, beautiful National Park(Coronado State Monument) that you should visit first. After you've hiked and enjoyed that, drive on to Santa Ana Star Casino. Large place and plenty of parking.Has all the slots and tables you need and reasonably priced food. Huge non-smoking area and that really is a bonus!

Sadie's Restaurant in this casino is good and they have good entertainment. i hate smoke so appreciate their non smoking gaming room.

We enjoyed our meal at Sadie's and tried to go into a comedy show, but were rejected because one of use did not have an ID - we are ALL over 40 years old! Then we were hanging at a bar and drinking and talking and gambling, just having a good time when the bartender stopped serving us drinks and said we had had too much. NOT because we were causing any trouble or being loud anything like that. Simply because New Mexico is very conservative with alcohol. We were turned away at another place for not having IDs. Both of us over 40. They will claim it is the law, but the law only states that you must suspect the person of not being 21 to not serve. Anyway... be warned.

I went here to order a yummy take away breakfast burrito at the famous Sadies but I want also to look around the casino and quickly play the gambling machines. I don't gamble but I just want to live out the fantasy of gambling in a casino. Because these machines are modern and electronic I didn't have a clue what I was doing. You put dollar bills in the machines and push flashing buttons! I like the slot machine in the cowboy films they called the one arm bandit and you put quarters into and if you won you would get a bucket full of change. But in the modern world its all electronic. Many of the casinos are built on native Indian land and that is why people can smoke in casinos because they are not subjected to american laws. I have also heard that some of the profits of the casinos go to good causes on the reservations. So some charitable good comes from these gambling parlours.

It appears to the observer that you must be a smoker to visit this casino. They have a very small non-smoking section that is not closed off from the rest of the casino, so the smoke smell, second hand and third hand smoke is well permeated throughout. The main casino is filled with lots of locals, all with a cigarette in their mouth--I honestly couldn't believe how many people were smoking! Some of them are so engrossed with the games that they don't even realize that they didn't light it yet or that it has burned down to the butt! By quick glance of the area, most of the patrons here can't afford to be here. To get to the restaurants with the exception of Sadie's you have to go thru the casino. We went here specifically for the Fiesta Buffet and basically picked a door as close to the restaurant as possible to avoid the smoke as we darted to the entrance of the buffet. The air ventilation in the casino isn't anything like Vegas--the glass doors have a horrible haze on them from all the residue. The machines appeared "tight" didn't hear too many of them paying out. The bathrooms are very clean and there is a refreshment area where you can get complimentary fountain drinks and coffee. We had planned to play the slots while waiting for the buffet to open, but couldn't handle the smoke and instead went outside the casino into the fresh air and waited.

I've been there with 5 family members, we had their seafood buffet on Friday night, that was great, my family like it very much except a little bit expensive. I highly recommend!

It was fairly quiet but we had a great BLT sandwich at the grill. He played blackjack, and we also played about $40 worth of video poker. Those machines are crazy and waaaay tight. It looks like a local place, which is good. Quick 90 minute visit.

The restrauant was not worth it. Waitress did not bring back our 50 dollar change. Reported her to a manager and she argued with us. What happened to customer service.

Not a huge gambler but decided to stop in Bernalillo for a night on our way to CO instead of driving all the way like we usually do.Lots of fun! It was pretty smokey, but they do have a non-smoking section.Convenient to get to and free parking...close to lots of motels.I think we are likely to stop in again!

Has covered parking, which is great. The casino is quite nice. Small but they have a great no smoking section. There are restaurants and snack bars. It is a great lay out. We aren't big gamblers but it is a nice place that isn't filled with lots of people and easy to get to.
