A Swiss buying diamond necklaces (one for his daughter and one for his life partner) from a jewelry store in Hanover NH? Yep. Why not in Zurich? Trust. For instance, when several years ago I bought my sweetheart diamond stud earrings from one of those world-renowned jewelers on world-renowned Bahnhofstrasse and asked for certification of the stones, all I got was a blank look. I bought the earrings, yes, but swore I'd never again patronize a store that can't provide a certificate for the costly gems they sell (unless you're willing to wait two months until the stones are sent away for assessment and then returned). For me, that's a cat-in-a-sack deal, and the possibility of unwittingly buying a "blood diamond" curdles my blood. Von Bargen's is a world away from Zurich, and worlds apart. You immediately realize that each employee is a highly trained expert, not just a salesperson. Julie was of tremendous help to me, and Von Bargen's will always remain my jeweler of choice.

The service at Von Bargen's is superior. Never pushy, they allow you to take your time making decisions and are very happy to educate you about your options. With multiple locations in Vermont, they have a wide inventory available.Even if you are not in the market for a new diamond or a sparkly bangle, stop in here just to look.

Though it was clear after a few moments that I was looking for something that was much lower in cost than their offerings, the staff continued to be very informative, courteous and helpful.Though I didn't purchase anything, I learned quite a bit. And the selection they offer is lovely. I did appreciate the courtesy of the staff, and left with the impression that this would be an excellent choice when looking for fine jewelry in a reputable and friendly setting.
