This is a gem of a museum in New Ulm- three floors of the area's history told from many different perspectives. There is also a nice little bookstore with many local authors and local history books.

Top floor was chilling. Made us appritaite our freedom and thank those who fight for us. Enjoyed writter Wanda Gag. How talented. Farming area was good too.

This museum is well worth the visit. The architecture of the building is remarkable. The third floor displays about the Dakota war are especially well done and very informative. The other 2 floors are also worth viewing.

I loved how much stuff there was to look at and interact with. Not a stuffy boring mesuem and only $5 for hours of enjoyment!

This historical society does a wonderful job interpreting their county's history. They also have a large research room, so if you have relation in that area at any given time you should be able to track them down.

The exhibits are of high quality. Lots of local history and artifacts. The research room has detailed data if you are researching family roots in the area. The 3rd floor is a very high quality standing exhibit on the conflict between the white pinoneers and the Native American Dakotas They have great artifacts, including a bear rug, a full size canoe and much more.
