Great place for a walk or jog! Dogs and frisbees welcome. Softball field and public restrooms. Annual ice cream social takes place once every summer.

This park is fabulous and just plain beautiful. When I was a kid growing up in Wilmington I used to ride my bike to this park. The tower was open and running up the steps to the top was great fun.

Since I lived within walking distance of Rockford Park for many years, this area is like home to me. The grounds around the tower once belonged to a great grandfather of my husband and the family had lots of tales to tell about it. The land was originally deeded to the city as a place for city dwellers to visit the "country" and have a relaxed picnic on sunny days. The tower was erected to supply the city with water, especially during summer droughts. The park backs up to the Brandywine River and is a favorite climbing and canoeing spot for visitors. The Tower was recently renovated and I believe it can now be visited inside. Don't visit Wilmington without stopping at this lovely oasis in the middle of the Highlands area.

Pretty old historic water tower is worth a peak. Nice park for joggers & walkers. They have a fairly large off lease dog park! Picnic tables & a summer concert series. Near some of the prettiest & grandest homes in Wilmington!

Rockford Park is the hallmark of the Highlands area. The Flower Market is great once a year, but not to be missed are trips to the tops of the tower, and best of all the dog park on the lower section.

We love visiting this park! First, it is a very dog-friendly park, with a large, open grassy area where dogs can frolic and play unleashed. A huge plus for us, as we were traveling with our golden retriever. Second, the large water tower is very impressive and certainly worth seeing. Unfortunately, it was closed when we went to visit, which we thought a bit shocking since it's only October. Third, the neighborhood surrounding the park is full of old, gorgeous houses. It's worth visiting the park just to explore the surrounding area and see all of the beautiful houses and mature trees. Definitely an enjoyable park!

We went to one of the free summer concerts at Rockford Park & Tower. What a fantastic experience! It was a prefect relaxing night. We spread a blanket and brought a picnic dinner with us. We also brought our dogs. Thumbs up! Check the DE State Park website for a schedule of events. I believe they call it the Summer Concert Series. More than one DE state park participates each summer.

We visited the Wilmington Flower Market that is being held at Rockford Park. If you have the chance this weekend, you should definitely visit. Lots of activities for young and old- rides, food, games, things to buy and free shows. If you don't make it this year, mark your calendar for next year.Rockford Park is a beautiful park to visit.

Perfect Park...off leash dog area, hidden trails, lots of open space, great for runners and you get to see the beautifully historical Rockford tower!!!

Lovely park minutes from downtown Wilmington. If you go on a Sunday, the dog park is busy with lots of great people and their furry friends.

Rockford park is a fun place to go. Whether you want to take your dog for a walk or go see Shakespeare in the park. They have nice trails and is located in a beautiful setting.

It's a nice park and the tower is pretty if you catch it the right part of the day, but Delaware has a lot of good parks and this isn't one to go out of your way for.

Just a park with a tower. Go there to relax but don't go there thinking that it's a tourist attraction.

We came on a night when there was a concert in the park and the tower was open. 132 steps were manageable even for our 3 year old. At the top there were great views of the surroundings. Also walked around the neighborhood to see some nice houses and landscaping. It was an enjoyable experience to visit on concert night with Tower access.

It's a park. Nice enough. But it's just a park. Some nice views, but really nothing special. Probably more fun to walk around the neighborhood and see how the 1% live in town.
