My wife and I found the falls by just driving around. Turns out is is easily accessible from the visitor's center. The trail along the stream looked easy. For ease of getting to the falls and the size of the falls, it is definitely worth seeing.

You start the "hike" at Sugarlands Visitor Center. It's not a real hike. I believe it's mostly flat ground with a few gentle inclines - maybe one area that is a little bit "steep", but not really. If you can walk through a grocery store to grocery shop, you can do this hike. The falls themselves aren't very large, but they are pretty none the less. It's worth the walk out to see them.

We needed an easy trail after having been on a loooooong hike the day before, stopped at the ranger station and landed here. Only .5 mostly flat walk to the fall. Certainly not the best falls. Average for the area. It was nice though. We continued on the trail for a few hours but we were too tired to go the eight miles to the summit but we still saw some nice scenery. Fun little nature mini hike.

The walk to the waterfall was better than the waterfall itself. The wife and I stopped several times along the way and looked for stones in the creek. The waterfall was ok at best.

We only did the Cataract Falls because it had a short hike in and the weather was pretty crappy when we were there. I think it was .05 mile to the falls and the trail was clearly visible and easy to walk. Once we reached the falls it was only about a 40ft fall that was honestly just an average waterfall in the middle of the woods. It's not a bad chance to stretch your legs though.

The Cataract Falls is right near the Sugarland Visitor Center. It's a short walk to the falls. The falls were pretty. Nice for pictures but kind of small, still very pretty. It is an easy walk.

The journey to these falls is a nice leisurely walk from the Sugarlands Visitor Center. Plenty of interesting trees and plants to look at along the way and it is relatively flat. The falls are neat, not the most impressive falls you will see but worth the short walk to see them. I never knew this trail even existed but would recommend it to anyone at the visitor center who didn't want to make the more strenuous hikes to some of the other falls in the park.

The Cataract Falls are a short distance from the Sugarlands Visitor Center. The Falls are pretty but they aren't one of the bigger more powerful Falls in the Smoky Mountain State Park. We enjoyed the walk to the Falls and our volunteer park guide was very informative.

My husband and I visited Cataract Falls on Tuesday 10/21/14. It was a very gentle hike to a pretty waterfall. We were there very early in the morning (sunrise) and had almost the entire place to ourselves. We saw a runner at one point, but we didn't see anyone else until we returned from the hike afterwards. Very pretty, peaceful, and an easy hike.

I found out this was right behind the Sugarlands Visitor Center, so my husband and I walked back to it. This is a good way to take a short hike to get a look at the forest as well as see a nice little waterfall. Most of the trail is paved or at least has a well traveled pathway. This is a perfect waterfall and trail for the elderly or those with small children.

Its an easy place to hike and would be good for younger kids. I saw a black snake this time on the trail but when you get to the waterfall it just cascades down the rocks. This makes my 4th time here this year. Will be going back in December.

Nice little hike from the Visitor Center, and definitely not difficult. The falls are nothing spectacular, but in a quiet setting that's pretty peaceful.

This nice easy stroll to a waterfall is behind the Sugarlands Visitor Center. Myself, my husband, and my 16 month old daughter did this nature trail. Our daughter is just starting to walk so the nice flat walkway was perfect for her to toddle on all the way to the falls. The falls are really pretty and if you're looking for a nice easy walk rather than a big hike I would definitely recommend this.

Very easy and convenient! This is an easy trail originating at the Visitors Center. We did this after the Nature Trail which was very easy for hikers of any age and level. There are so many fabulous trails that this one worked for us because we wanted a little exercise before a long drive from a convenient location.

My family likes hikes and trails along water ... creeks and stream and rocks to climb ... this trail had something for all of us ... especially my kids ..It is a pretty easy hike for all ages and skill levels and the falls offer beautiful views .. more trails and rocks for climbing ...A nice way to spend an hour or two .. we combined it with the Sugarlands Nature Trail ...
