cedar point state park

use to go every summer when I was young so decided to take my family there and I still just love this place in all the years it has not changed much . There is so much to see and do 2 weeks was just not long enough.

There's a lovely little beach for swimming, and the water is perfectly clear. You can watch the big ships come down the river. It's a nice park to have a picnic or camp in the shade of the oak trees. Not a lot bugs, like some places in the area.

There are many sites that are large enough for bigger RV's and stone driveways. Ours was not, thank goodness it didn't rain while we were there or our site would have been under water. There were some very nice sites on the water.

We purchase the $65 NYS park pass and spend a ton of time here in the summer. Lots of sun and shade options; playground, beach and river are all next to each other. Bath houses are clean. Ice cream shack is open til 4pm. Best park on the River, in my opinion, especially with little kids in your entourage.

We are new to camping because we want to give our grandchildren an appreciation of nature so we are discovering NYS parks. this park is one of the oldest, its not huge which i think is good for young kids. Fishing, swimming, strolling, riding bikes safely! we had a full hookup site - electric, water and sewer on site. the kids could ride bikes around our loop of sites with the freedom i enjoyed as a kid! wonderful 6 days filled with outdoor swimming, fishing and stunning sunsets
