spring lake at varallo vineyards

I attended a wedding there last night. Unfortunately, the weather did not cooperate, but that is not Spring Lake's fault. The wedding was held at a gorgeous outdoor spot, right on the lake. The refreshments served during the "cocktail hour" between the wedding and reception were phenomenal! I have never seen shrimp so large! The steak that was served at the reception dinner was tender and tasty.

The owners were wonderful, explained their wine and did not rush us while tasting. Welcomed us to view the lake and walk around the property. Plus the owner took our photo in front of their winery with a very unique piece of grapevine in the landscaping. Can't wait to go back.

So for $14, you get 3 wine tastings, a bruschetta cracker, a cherry tomato, an olive, a small mozzarella ball, and some of their wine ice cream. The wine was good, but I was really disappointed in 'the food pairing.' The atmosphere is nice, right along the lake.

We visited 11 wineries on our Niagara wine trail tour and this had (be far!!) the best wine. Even their reds were good. I asked why and they shared with me that they import the grapes for their reds. Smart move!! This area simply doesn't have the ability to produce a grape for quality red wine. The setting is beautiful. My only suggestion - add a gift shop!!!

Set way off the road but not way out of town, Spring Lake is a great place to visit and just relax. Tables and chairs under the trees overlooking the little lake, and some gardens and statuary make it a nice place to just grab a bottle of wine and set a spell.

Friendly staff and great ambiance . We did several wineries and this one we sat outside and enjoyed the longest on this trip. Good location to small town of Lockport - check out the locks as well

Feels like your back in Italy in the wine tasting room. The atmosphere is great, the people are friendly and have a good selection of various wines. The surrounding grounds is very relaxing and enjoyable.. They also offer various activities such as a train ride, etc> Cjheck it out, well worth it.

Please take the train, but reservations fill early!
