. We visited the Niagara County Historical Society which consists of five buildings. It was fun roaming around looking at the various exhibits. I also enjoyed conversing with the ladies in the genealogy library on the second floor of the main building. This site costs $4 per adult. There is a buy one admission get the second one free coupon in the Entertainment Book. The staff here is great. There is a gift shop as well.

We actually only visited the Erie Canal Discovery Center, which is but one part of the larger History Center. If you're interested in the Erie Canal and the circumstances surrounding its construction, you'll likely be content to explore this well-conceived and nicely implemented exhibit area.

Had a very fun afternoon at the Discovery Center with my son and niece. Having grown up locally I loved sharing this with them and I learned a lot too! Thankfully my Aunt took us to view this gem!

This attraction has 2 main sites in Lockport:215 Niagara street: The Outwater Memorial Building (5 buildings): History mostly about Niagara County.24 Church street: The Erie Canal Discovery Center: History mostly about the Erie Canal and the Flight of Five locks. (the main picture shown on TripAdvisor is the Erie Canal Discovery Center). When parked at the Discovery Center, you can walk to the locks that are nearby and also stroll along the canal. The museum is really worth the small charge they ask for.Guided tour is very educational and interesting. The history of the Erie Canal and the Flight of Five are facinating. You must visit Lockport and especially those historic sites when in the Buffalo-Niagara area.Very interesting little town !
