Apparently this ferry only operates for special events like the Gretna Festival. It was not in use at Mardi Gras.

This Ferry is now closed. As of July of 2013 this ferry is no longer in operation. Check with NOLA.com to see if they will reopen the ferry. The Ferry in Algiers is still running.

Wonderful freebie! Friendly staff. Short wait time anytime of the day. Great views of the city and some of the other cruise boats and ships of the mighty Mississippi!

This was a very convenient way to get from our hotel over to the French Quarter . The best part is that it was FREE !!! Beautiful view of the skyline & bridge at night. Beware of the parking nearby. We pd. $10 to leave our car there & asked if it was a "monitored" lot. We were told it was , but there was not a soul there when we returned & it was very dark.

Very convenient and on time!! It was a smooth trip with a good view and it was free!! Offered several picture taking opportunities of the area.

Discovered this excellent ride while working in NOLA during Katrina. After a long day of performing inspections, it was nice to take the slow boat (ferry) back to NOLA and simply relax. Highly recommended.

Easy to get to--delivers you to a good place. Easy to get all over town from the exit point.

It was very clean. Had a fun time taking the ferry to the other side of the Mississippi river.
