We didn't have enough time here to see everything but there was a huge collection of interesting artefacts, some in glass cases and many in drawers which you could open to look in (labelled as to what was in them). There was a local Alaskan native lady doing handcrafts which was interesting to watch. The gift shop had some lovely items but they were incredibly expensive.

Super collection, Smithsonian-like. Give yourself several hours to really let it all sink in. Highly recommended.

The history of this area is amazing, to see the clothing, the tools that were used the fishing and hunting stuff, amazing information. Could spend half a day there easily and helpful knowledgeable staff...

This is a tiny museum, quite worth a visit, but so small that you'll be in and out in 30-minutes. Their historical kayak collection is both interesting and quite good. If you're in town for a period of time, this is something you should see, but if you're short on time, visit the Historic Park totem poles or a local restaurant or watering hole instead, and meet some local people.

Lots of native artifacts and clothing. Not really large, but very well laid out. We really enjoyed it.

The Sheldon Jackson Museum was part of a tour we took and we were very glad it was included. The staff is very knowledgeable and the artifacts were fascinating. We spent over an hour there and could have easily spent three more - which says a lot as the entire museum is contained in one large room.

We love learning about native cultures. Even more than the Totem park, this place is filled with a wealth of material from every aspect of the native lives - not just the spectacular (e.g., totems or other ceremonial objects) It was fascinating. It was made more so for us because we know a bit of the history of Sheldon Jackson himself.

and then some. Lots of Tlingit cultural artifacts. Don't forget to open the drawers below the cases where there are lots more items.

We did a loop of taxi to/from the Fortress of the Bear, drop off at Raptor center then walk to Sitka National Historic Park and Sheldon Jackson Museum. Made for a great afternoon. This little museum is worth a 30-60 minute peak. Tons of stuff packed into a one-room museum. You could have spent hours looking at everything here, but a walk around the room was best for us. We were the only ones there. Worth the admission price.

Superb collection of items of daily life from native peoples from all over Alaska. We would have liked to have 2-3 hours instead of the 35 minutes (before they closed for the day).

Allow enough time here to read the captions and even pull out the display drawers. The room is small but well planned and with high quality, rare exhibits. Highly recommend it.

Interesting collection of Native artifacts from all over Alaska. A lot of smaller items are stored in drawers beneath the display cases, so take the time to be nosy.

The museum is worth spending at least an hour in. The collection of Tlingit culture is beautiful and fascinating.
