My boyfriend and I recently went to Little Rock for the weekend, and this is one of the museums we checked out. It is a wonderful museum with lots to see. You cannot beat a free museum!

Although named in honor of General McArthur, this museum is about Arkansas military history. There is a nice film and a small exhibit honoring McArthur, but he is not the focus of this great little museum. The rooms are nicely laid out in a building that has historic significance itself. The tour is free, although there is a donation box in the lobby. Each room is dedicated to a specific segment of time in military history. Photos/clothing and equipment used by Arkansans who served, along with stories of their personal experiences, make for an intimate historical picture. We spent a good hour or more here – the film is about 15 minutes as I recall. There is also a beautiful memorial on the grounds where we spent a few more minutes. Well worth the time.

The MacArthur Museum is a good look back in history. It will remind you of things you may have forgot about this great American leader, as well as the sacrifices made by so many. They truly were, "The Greatest Generation"

This is a great museum in a lovely location. It has free parking and is completely free. Donations are welcomed though. The staff are very helpful and friendly. There are great exhibits on The American Civil War, WWI, WWII including an actual jeep, Korea and Vietnam. My favourite exhibit was the information on MacArthur, just so much to see, watch and read. Also fascinating in that this building was his birth place. Outside there is a realy peaceful Korean memorial. I will be back.

This museum looks at the military history of Arkansas through all the wars, so there were wonderful displays on everything from the Civil War through World War II and the Vietnam era. When I was there, they had a special display of WW I propaganda posters which were very interesting. There is also a permanent display about MacArthur's service years and his relationship with President Truman. The museum is FREE so you just need to wander in and take a look around.

This was our first stop on our tour both in Arkansas and in Little Rock, visiting 7 states this time. It was very interesting, especially as it had a few special exhibitions, one dealing with the infamous treatment of Japanese-Americans during WWII and the other one with the famous General. All very interesting. Re Vietnam, more focus should be applied on the problematic background. Make sure to visit the nice memorials and statues outside, as well as the beautiful Catholic Church across the road.

The MacArthur Museum of Arkansas Military History is located in the tower building of the U. S. Arsenal in MacArthur Park. Built in 1840, this building, the birthplace of General Douglas MacArthur, was part of Little Rock's first military installation. For a small museum, it contains a number of interesting exhibits. Perhaps one of the most interesting deals with the Civil War. A film about General MacArthur is also worth watching. Outside the museum is a Korean War Memorial. Persons interested in military history would enjoy this museum. These is no admission fee to visit this museum, but donations are welcomed. Photographs are permitted.

A lot of history in a small space. You will enjoy the film of Douglas McArthur. The park the museum is in is very pretty to walk through.

This is a hidden treasure in Little Rock. We are WWII history fans and were so pleasantly surprised that this museum is free of charge. We spent half a day reading and looking at all of the artifacts. Absolutely wonderful. Do not miss it.
