This road is really helpful. There are periodic potholes, mostly caused by physical weathering of ice. The downside is that if there IS traffic, it's pretty bad. Drivers from the area being what they are, this is a great low-traffic route and takes you lots of helpful places. Check google traffic beforehand though, because if you get into a slow moving mess, you'll wish you had brought a book.

landscape is Great but need more lanes. The traffic is always congested from commuters coming or going to Washington or Maryland.

Beautiful road and no semis allowed. But this road is almost always packed and busy. I would recommend another route to keep your sanity
